Senior Engineering Manager

About your role:

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead engineering teams that design, develop, modernize and operate cloud-native enterprise applications. You will work with Product Management, Architecture, Security, Infrastructure and Operations teams to deliver scalable platforms using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Kubernetes and cloud technologies. Your work will support secure, resilient software delivery for financial services and other mission-critical environments.

What you'll do:
  • Lead software engineering teams that build and operate cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
  • Define engineering practices, coding standards and architecture principles that support scalable, secure and maintainable platforms.
  • Guide modernization programs that move enterprise applications toward containerized, cloud-native and automated delivery models.
  • Partner with product, architecture, security, infrastructure and operations teams to align platform delivery with business and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee Kubernetes, OpenShift and cloud platform deployment strategies across Azure, Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform environments.
  • Manage Agile, Scaled Agile Framework and Program Increment planning activities across concurrent development initiatives and releases.
  • Coach engineers, technical leads and managers through performance planning, career development and succession planning.

Experience you'll need to have:
  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering delivering enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices and cloud-native technologies.
  • 8+ years of experience managing and developing engineering teams that deliver enterprise platforms or mission-critical applications.
  • 8+ years of experience leading architecture, modernization or platform engineering initiatives in distributed systems environments.
  • 8+ years of experience with cloud platforms, containerized deployments and DevOps automation using technologies such as Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Enterprise or Azure DevOps.
  • 8+ years of experience delivering secure application integrations using Representational State Transfer Application Programming Interfaces, event-driven architecture, Kafka, RabbitMQ, API gateways or service mesh technologies.
  • 8+ years of experience with relational or nonrelational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra or Cosmos DB.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:
  • Experience in banking, payments, financial technology or other regulated industries.
  • Experience modernizing monolithic applications into microservices architecture.
  • Experience with observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus or Grafana.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related field, Scaled Agile Framework certification or equivalent Agile credential, or cloud architecture certification or equivalent cloud credential.

How you'll work:
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.

Travel:

This role requires occasional travel (up to 10%).

Salary Range
$186,000.00 - $285,600.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.

For incentive eligible associates, the successful candidate is eligible for an annual incentive opportunity which may be delivered as a mix of cash bonus and equity awards in the Company's sole discretion.
