Overview

Our Nuclear Services Group is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for our Advanced Nuclear Division. In this role, you will lead the Engineering Unit to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality, while inspiring a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. This position can be located in one of the following locations:

  • Kennesaw, GA
  • Naperville, IL
  • Overland Park, KS
  • Other office locations

  • Project Delivery, Quality & Continuous Improvement: Ensure the Engineering Unit staff maintains schedules, budgets, and quality of deliverables. Maintain responsibility for the engineer team's quality; establish and enforce quality standards for the team through the Project Engineers and Supervisors. Maintain, update, and execute Continuous Improvement Plans. Accountable for ensuring project budget and schedule are met for division projects. Responsible for the approval of engineering documents produced by the Engineering Unit. Drive continuous improvement in the organization utilizing the lessons learned and corrective action programs
  • Work Planning & Technical Leadership: Work with Project Managers and Project Engineers to define the scope of work. Direct/assign work to the Engineering Unit to balance activities. Demonstrate technical leadership, providing resolution to technical issues either through own knowledge or by coordination with Subject Matter Expert
  • Business Development & Client Engagement: Aggressively support marketing efforts. Lead proposal preparation with input from Project Managers, Project Engineers, and discipline supervisors. Develop and maintain professional relationships with client counterparts. Assist with development and execution of business plan development and implementation, market assessment and planning, contract negotiation, product and service development
  • People Leadership & Talent Development: Recruit, hire, develop and retain staff. Identify and promote opportunities for site work. Identify and promote training opportunities (ex: owner's groups, manufacturer, professional society). Utilize the review/approval process of deliverables as technical training opportunity for staff. Provide timely and appropriate performance feedback and coaching. Promote professional development (ex: professional license, certifications, and client qualifications). Support, follow and enforce company policies and procedures. Identify and develop future leaders of the organization
  • Business Performance & Accountability: Meet applied time goals for self; in addition, ensures that his/her staff meets their applied time goals #LI-SH7

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required
  • Must have 10+ years of design engineering experience in the Power Industry
  • Candidate must have active PE license or be willing to obtain active PE license
  • Prior experience with the Advanced Nuclear and Small Modular Reactor technologies is strongly desired
  • Experience with new design of power plant systems
  • Experience with the management and coordination of complex BIM / 3D models containing major plant systems, structures, and components
  • Experience with Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) or other large-scale project delivery methods is desired
  • Knowledge of applicable government codes and industry standards
  • Excellent organizational, time management, strategic planning, writing, communication, decision-making, and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; Comfortable and effective communicator with staff, clients (internal and external), management, etc., choosing the right mode of communication for the situation and relaying the right message
  • Strong technical writing, attention to detail, and human performance skills
  • Strong coordination and team-building skills; demonstrated ability to work across disciplines, divisions, and teams
  • Ability to assess and understand team strengths and weaknesses and adjust level of support/oversight as appropriate
  • Ability to motivate team members and achieve goals through positive, winning attitude and effective leadership style which is consistent with ENERCON's Defining Excellence fundamentals
  • Problem-solving and general scientific evaluation skills
  • Required to travel up to 25+% of the time to client sites (expected to travel at least one time per month) for project meetings, marketing meetings and conferences. Also, required to travel between ENERCON regional offices

Compensation Range

USD $150,000.00 - USD $220,000.00 /Yr.
