About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned engineering manager to scale up an established team. This role requires balancing out new product/capability builds with an emphasis on resilience and reliability. Expertise in distributed/financial systems that require high uptime is essential, knowledge around finance systems such as Netsuite is a bonus. The team owns a partner facing product and will require collaboration with product managers as well as go to market teams.

What You'll Do

• Provide strategic direction and set up technical vision to raise our bar on reliability, scalability, and availability of our global infrastructure.
• Manage cross-functional collaboration with orders, supply chain, finance and other GTM teams to initiate, drive critical business initiatives and deliver with high quality
• Mentoring engineers on good architecture choices (tech spec reviews) as well as balancing out stakeholder requirements on latency.
• Work with different organizations to build future roadmap alongside evolving business processes.
• Build and lead the team through effective recruitment, mentoring, and leadership.

What You Bring

• 4+ years of experience in managing, leading, and inspiring a team of engineers, including hiring, retaining, and managing performance.
• 10+ years of work experience in a software engineering role, with proven technical leadership skills and expertise in designing scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Ability to spot gaps between process and tools, and a strong commitment to close them.
• Proficient in agile team software development and strong project management, delivering complex projects within defined timelines and resource constraints.
• Adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, communicating effectively, and aligning efforts to achieve common goals.
• Experience with Python or Go, and familiarity with backend development flow, including server-side framework and database system.

• Experience with Kubernetes, AWS and Terraform
• Experience with Netsuite (or any other ERP)
• Experience building long term roadmaps and presenting to Executives.
• Hands-on leadership experience managing platform teams in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
• Experience implementing scalable and reliable solutions using modern cloud and DevOps practices.

Annual Pay Range

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs)

Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).
