Job descriptions may display in multiple languages based on your language selection.Job Responsibilities: This role is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, deploying, and validating robotics software for Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) and Fleet Management Systems. The primary responsibilities include developing robot control, navigation, traffic management, fleet coordination, and system integration software while ensuring system reliability, scalability, and real-time performance.
The role also includes validating and maintaining existing AMR systems, supporting factory deployments, performing robot mapping and site commissioning, troubleshooting software issues, and collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver robust industrial robotics solutions. Domestic and international travel is required to support customer deployments, system integration, commissioning, and onsite debugging activities.
What you will be doing in this role:- Develop software for robot navigation, localization, path planning, robot control, traffic management, fleet coordination, and mission execution.
- Design and optimize algorithms for multi-robot coordination, mission scheduling, route optimization, collision avoidance, and autonomous robot operation.
- Develop modular software components and optimize communication and data flow between robotics software modules.
- Integrate robotics software with Fleet Management Systems (FMS), PLCs, industrial communication protocols, and third-party systems.
- Develop internal software tools for robot configuration, deployment, monitoring, diagnostics, testing, and debugging.
- Validate robotics software through simulation, laboratory testing, and production environments, while tracking, analyzing, and resolving software issues.
- Perform robot mapping, localization tuning, system commissioning, and onsite deployment at customer manufacturing facilities.
- Support existing AMR systems by investigating software issues, performing root cause analysis, implementing fixes, and improving system stability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and customers to support product development, factory deployment, and continuous system improvements.
What you should bring to this role:- Master's or higher degree in Engineering including but not limited to: Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Aerospace, and Robotics Automotive OEM or Tier-1 experience OR combination of Bachelors Degree and applicable experience required.
- Experience developing, integrating, validating, deploying, and debugging robotics software in production and customer environments.
- Hands-on experience with Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), robotics platforms, industrial automation systems, sensors, actuators, and communication networks.
- Experience performing robot deployment, mapping, commissioning, system validation, and onsite customer support.
- Experience investigating software issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to improve system performance and reliability.
- Strong understanding of robotics algorithms including traffic management, fleet coordination, path planning, navigation, localization, and obstacle avoidance required.
- Strong C/C++, Python programming skills required.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as MQTT, DDS, TCP/IP, Ethernet, CAN, REST API, and VDA5050 required.
- Ability to travel internationally to support business.
Hiring Base Salary Range: $105,780 - $196,440 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). In addition to base salary, some positions are eligible for an annual performance based bonus.
