Our Technical Operations team comprises aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that ensure they ' re well-equipped and ready to transport our customers to their desired destinations. Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Engineer- Interiors, you will play a critical role in ensuring our fleet is safe, efficient, and reliable. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will design, analyze, and implement solutions for aircraft interiors while maintaining the highest standards of airworthiness and regulatory compliance.

  • Analyze and solve issues related to the design, operation, maintenance, and performance of aircraft interiors and components.
  • Define maintenance programs, configuration criteria, and serviceability standards.
  • Evaluate regulatory requirements and implement necessary changes.
  • Evaluate the impact of modifications or new equipment on reliability and associated costs.
  • Lead projects, including authoring, designing, testing, and project management.
  • Provide on-site technical support for line and base operations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to address technical concerns.
  • Develop technical data for repairs and modifications to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Represent United at industry meetings as a subject matter expert.
  • Provide technical oversight and review of engineering documentation.


Location & Schedule: This role is based at the CSC - Willis Tower in Chicago, IL, and follows a hybrid work schedule with three days per week in the office (subject to change)

Qualifications

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace) or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years at an engineer level or similar role elsewhere in the industry
  • Familiarity with Boeing and/or Airbus aircraft.
  • Strong engineering expertise in aircraft systems, maintenance programs, and engines.
  • Proven project management experience, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.


What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Advanced engineering degree.
  • Boeing/Airbus Structures I, II, III
  • Airframe/Powerplant License.
  • Experience with CATIA/AUTOCAD and maintenance checks on Boeing/Airbus aircraft.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations (FAR 145, 25, and 121).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Airline Industry experience, particularly in interiors engineering
