Key Responsibilities: As a Senior Engineer- Interiors, you will play a critical role in ensuring our fleet is safe, efficient, and reliable. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will design, analyze, and implement solutions for aircraft interiors while maintaining the highest standards of airworthiness and regulatory compliance.
- Analyze and solve issues related to the design, operation, maintenance, and performance of aircraft interiors and components.
- Define maintenance programs, configuration criteria, and serviceability standards.
- Evaluate regulatory requirements and implement necessary changes.
- Evaluate the impact of modifications or new equipment on reliability and associated costs.
- Lead projects, including authoring, designing, testing, and project management.
- Provide on-site technical support for line and base operations.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to address technical concerns.
- Develop technical data for repairs and modifications to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Represent United at industry meetings as a subject matter expert.
- Provide technical oversight and review of engineering documentation.
Location & Schedule: This role is based at the CSC - Willis Tower in Chicago, IL, and follows a hybrid work schedule with three days per week in the office (subject to change)
Qualifications What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): - Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace) or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5-8 years at an engineer level or similar role elsewhere in the industry
- Familiarity with Boeing and/or Airbus aircraft.
- Strong engineering expertise in aircraft systems, maintenance programs, and engines.
- Proven project management experience, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Reliable, punctual attendance
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications): - Advanced engineering degree.
- Boeing/Airbus Structures I, II, III
- Airframe/Powerplant License.
- Experience with CATIA/AUTOCAD and maintenance checks on Boeing/Airbus aircraft.
- Knowledge of FAA regulations (FAR 145, 25, and 121).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Airline Industry experience, particularly in interiors engineering
