Full Job Description

Role Purpose

  • Lead development, optimization, and validation of injection molding processes for new product launches, tool transfers, and existing production programs.
  • Serve as the technical process expert within the manufacturing/engineering group, driving improvements in part quality, cycle time, scrap reduction, and overall process stability.
  • Partner with tooling, maintenance, quality, automation, and production teams to troubleshoot molding issues, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, develop, monitor, and optimize injection molding process parameters to achieve consistent part quality and efficient machine performance.
  • Troubleshoot molding defects and process issues; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Support mold trials, process qualifications, first article runs, process documentation, and operator/technician training while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.


Experiences/Education - Required

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field AND Minimum 3 yrs. hands-on injection molding process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting injection molding processes in a production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of injection molding machines, molds, hot runner systems, auxiliary equipment, and resin processing requirements.
  • Experience with scientific molding principles and the ability to establish and document robust, repeatable process parameters.
  • Experience working with automation and robotics in an injection molding manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, understand part specifications/tolerances, and use root cause analysis/continuous improvement methods to resolve technical issues and improve process performance.


Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Experience with decoupled molding methodologies, DOE, SPC, and validation documentation.
  • Familiarity with engineering-grade resins, multi-cavity molds, lean manufacturing, and regulated industries such as automotive, medical device, or consumer products manufacturing

The range for this position is $85,138.00 - $117,066.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
