Senior Engineer III

SUMMARY:


The Senior Engineer or Engineer III is a highly skilled and experienced engineer who is responsible for leading and executing engineering projects. The Senior Engineer will work closely with other engineers, technicians, and researchers to develop products and technologies, improve products and processes, and solve engineering problems. This includes the design, testing, and certification of components, engines, and aircraft.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Consistently creates clear, concise, inspectable, and manufacturable design data according to company standards, related specifications, engineering principles, customer, and regulatory requirements. Understands when it is appropriate to use GD&T, but biases towards standards. Provides design assistance and information.
  • Consistently creates clear, concise, and complete documentation including all required sections and content. Creates, reviews, and approves technical documents including engineering reports, certification documents, and manuals. Maintains and trains document standards and best practices.
  • Creates and reviews complete and complex change requests and notices in accordance with standards. Always verifies certification criteria, revision history, and change impact. Reviews and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Creates and reviews complete and complex change notices including stock lists, object associations, attributes links in accordance with standards.
  • Provides clear and concise status and progress reports to the customer, project team, and management. Plan and implement engineering projects including budget, schedule, and deliverables in accordance with company, customer, and certification requirements. Analyze project proposal to determine feasibility, producibility, cost, and production time. Coordinate preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design data, and bid packages.
  • Proficient at using appropriate analytical methods such as failure, pareto, materials, stress, fatigue, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Proficient at creating requirements and using systematic verification and validation techniques to identify all issues associated with a change or requirement and identifies cross change issues.
  • Understands the product development lifecycle at a high level and can gather sufficient context to work productively within it. Has expertise in a portion of their team's department.
  • Designs are consistently aligned with the overall product architecture. Utilizes standards parts and design standards effectively.
  • Approaches all engineering work with a security lens. Actively look for security vulnerabilities including protection of intellectual property, import and export compliance.
