Description

1. Strategic Planning & Leadership
  • Facilitate new product planning, lifecycle management, and operational development meetings.
  • Author, present, and defend technical roadmaps, advanced engineering drawings, and complex logistical or statistical data to support executive planning functions.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives across production systems.

2. Advanced Documentation & Process Control
  • Oversee the architecture, tracking, and compliance of product documentation, engineering changes (ECOs), and master engineering logistics.
  • Validate complex dimensional specifications, advanced Bills of Materials (BOMs), and optimized manufacturing routers.
  • Standardize product assembly, installation instructions, and shipping/packing configurations to ensure operational efficiency.

3. Engineering Design & Innovation
  • Drive advanced product research and design concepts, utilizing rapid prototyping to develop highly competitive, compliant, and innovative new products.
  • Optimize current product designs to reduce manufacturing costs, improve yield, and enhance reliability.
  • Design and implement high-efficiency manufacturing cells, workflows, and facility layouts.

4. Testing, Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Define, establish, and oversee rigorous compliance assurance testing programs to guarantee products meet or exceed global industry standards.
  • Represent the organization on industry compliance standards boards and regulatory committees.
  • Audit internal manufacturing processes to maintain the highest quality and safety metrics.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Mentorship
  • Provide senior-level engineering support and technical expertise across diverse company divisions.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers (including Engineer 1 and 2 levels) to foster technical growth and team capability

6. Advanced Customer Solutions & Market Insights
  • Lead technical communication with key accounts, providing authoritative guidance on complex product specifications, load capacities, operational capabilities, and custom installation suitability.
  • Conduct strategic voice-of-customer (VoC) interviews to translate market feedback into technical requirements for new product development.

8. Customer Service Support

Responsibilities include direct or indirect support of customer information requests, including product specifications, capacities, capabilities and performance suitability. Related duties include new product interviews and the development of new product requests and quotations.

9. Safety Support

Responsibilities include assisting with the improvement of company-wide safety issues including the correction of unsafe machinery, equipment, and working conditions through recommendations, modifications and/or additions to equipment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Must be able to organize technical thoughts and operating procedures for communication to others including manufacturing employee to executive management. Communication with internal staff and external suppliers required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

High level of mathematical skills required. Applicable knowledge of arithmetic calculations and engineering analysis skills required.

REASONING ABILITY

Strong ability to assess project requirements and communication requirements to successfully implement projects. Ability to translate product performance requests into technical product solutions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Technical or college degree in a mechanical or related engineering field required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
None required. Demonstrated proficiencies in Microsoft products, AutoCAD, Solid Works or similar engineering software systems are required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Regularly required to operate a computer, use the telephone, sit, kneel and squat. Frequent exposure to elements such as odors, oil, fumes, noise, extreme & changing weather conditions.

Employee must wear required personal protective equipment, including hardhat, safety glasses with side shields, goggles/face shields, hearing protection in designated areas, Kevlar gloves, and/or other equipment as task dictate.
