Job Summary:

Caterpillar's Industrial Power Systems Division seeks a Senior Engineer, Systems Integration in Mossville, IL to oversee the design and integration of 13L inline 6 diesel engine systems for Caterpillar machines and other commercial applications. The role includes end-to-end engine system design, manufacturing support, and post-production engineering, all performed in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

What You Will Do:
  • Design C13D/2606 L4 complex engine systems including requirements definition, concept development, detailed design work, manufacturing support, and post-production ongoing engineering maintenance.
  • Serve as a technical mentor for engineers in the design, development, implementation, and optimization of engine configurations
  • Ownership of the complete engine system bill of material.
  • Work closely with a cross-functional team of experts in the engine component team, engine application integration team, engine development team, certification team, and software team to successfully take engine projects from concept to complete, certified engine
  • Provide engine system level technical leadership for Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Marketing, and Product Support
  • Additional responsibilities may include continuous product improvement (factory and field), technical problem solving, project timeline management, factory change planning and implementation, and cost reduction


Degree Requirement

Requires an engineering degree from an accredited university. Preference in Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering

What Sets You Apart:

  • Strong foundation in general engineering principles, with ability to quickly understand system-level requirements and dependencies
  • Proven experience in test and development environments, including building, validating, and troubleshooting systems
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage bill of materials (BOM) and ensure components align with functional and performance requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, including leading/participating in design reviews and clearly articulating technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Effective influence and leadership presence

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
