Brown & Brown is seeking a Large Group Senior Employee Benefits Account Executive to join our growing team in Phoenix, AZ!

The primary responsibility of the Large Group Senior Employee Benefits Account Executive is to manage their assigned book of business with a high level of independence and autonomy. The Senior Employee Benefits Account Executive will have a comprehensive knowledge base of Employee Benefits, including funding mechanisms, compliance requirements, and benefit trends. The Senior Employee Benefits Account Executive is a coach and mentor for the team and uses discretionary judgment on advanced tasks and special projects that support the success of the Employee Benefits Team and the firm.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Work with producers on new business opportunities, including attending initial prospect visits and/or finalist presentations to understand the group's culture and company details and establish a working relationship.

  • Work with the Account Manager to ensure the group is onboarded in a timely, comprehensive manner that meets customer expectations and B&B’s internal policies and procedures.

  • Work with Account Manager, Marketing, and Tech teams to provide all customer deliverables (reporting, renewals, benefit guides, marketing strategy, OE materials, contributions strategies, project timelines, technology, and wellness strategies, etc.)

  • Formulate marketing strategy with the customers and communicate details to the marketing team.

  • Introduce B&B products or services that further the customer’s benefits goals, grow revenue for B&B, and support retention.

  • Coordinate with Marketing/Tech team to establish timelines, deliverables, communicate marketing strategy, required carriers, contribution strategies, plan alternates.

  • Communicate with the Account Manager to establish open enrollment timelines.

  • Communicate with the Marketing/Finance team around deadlines and go to market.

  • Act as primary contact for the assigned Account Manager for escalated service and compliance issues

  • Review all existing plans and accompanying plan documents. Identify gaps in coverage, compliance issues, recommended plan changes or enhancements, etc.

  • Coordinate compliance review within the first 6 months of a customer relationship and ensure B&B meets any resulting commitments.

  • Meet with carrier reps, executives, and underwriters to establish relationships, negotiate renewals, understand new products, attend educational and CPE events, etc.

  • Assist with RFP responses.

  • Perform quarterly or semi-annual claims/data reviews, along with annual pre-renewal and renewal meetings.

  • Advise customers on all matters related to their benefits and resolve escalated issues from the internal team.

  • Deliver, or coordinate coverage for, open enrollment meetings when necessary and assist in all departments with whatever is needed to meet deadlines you have established.

  • Accountable for ensuring all IO responsibilities are met for their customers.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • AZ Life and Health License.

Skills & Experience to be Successful:

  • A minimum of a 4-year degree or equivalent work experience is required.

  • 9+ years of employee benefits experience with a thorough understanding and knowledge of employee benefits

  • Well-versed with level and self-funded groups

  • 4+ years of financial experience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Familiarity with complex benefit issues

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking ability

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
