The Electrical Performance Assessment Department is looking for an Electronics Technologist who is eager to work in these facilities to support nuclear weapon testing that are critical to the interests of national security.

On any given day, you may be called on to:
  • Support engineering staff by conducting experiments including instrumentation specification and set up, diagnostics, and laboratory equipment control for radiation effects environments.
  • Perform detailed and accurate documentation supporting testing programs.
  • Perform preliminary data processing to verify quality testing data.
  • General laboratory stewardship such as ES&H and security responsibilities, maintaining work-control documentation, managing property, coordinating instrument calibration and repair, and occasionally coordinating building-related activities with Facilities personnel.
  • Work in a dynamic small team environment and manage time according to work demands.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite and be able to obtain security clearances, at varying levels and categories.

Salary Range

$74,700 - $144,400

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require

  • Associate of Science degree in a technical field, preferably Electronics or Electrical Engineering plus two years of relevant experience or a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

  • Experience with instrument control language,s such as LabView
  • Experience with preliminary data processing and analysis, such as Matlab, JMP, or Excel
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q clearance


Qualifications We Desire

  • Experience with lab equipment, such as VNA, PNA, parametric analyzers
  • Have a basic understanding of radiation effects on semiconductors and microelectronics
  • Work independently and be a good team member

About Sandia National Laboratories

The Sandia National Laboratories is one of three National Nuclear Security Administration research and development laboratories in the United States, managed and operated privately by the National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia.
