Role Summary

The Senior Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects across a range of sizes and complexity. Working closely with internal teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders, this role supports the successful pursuit of new business opportunities by developing detailed tenders, analyzing project requirements, and ensuring all submissions align with project specifications, timelines, and budget expectations.

Key Impact / Purpose

  • Drive the successful pursuit and acquisition of electrical construction projects through accurate, strategic, and competitive estimating practices.
  • Support operational and financial project success by providing detailed labour breakdowns, cost analysis, and estimating turnover information to project teams.
  • Build strong partnerships with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to secure reliable pricing, reduce risk, and strengthen bid competitiveness.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working within a team to perform quantity takeoffs including entry into a computerized estimating system.
  • Assemble all elements of an estimate including labour, material, equipment and subcontractor pricing.
  • Preparation, final review and submission documents to ensure all bid requirements are met with department manager
  • Gather information for labor breakdowns for each area to assist with budget creation and management of project.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Attend and participate in site-visits, pre-bid meeting and post-bid meeting as required.
  • Participate in estimating turnover meetings with project team to assist planning and budget process.
  • Establish strong relationships with suppliers and sub trades to ensure sound and competitive pricing is received.
  • Collaborate and independently review project schematics to strategize on best approach for submissions.


Must-haves

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Electrical estimating
  • Post-secondary diploma in electrical or construction technology, or other relevant technology field (CET or ENG considered an asset but not required) OR;
  • Experience in an electrical contracting trade OR; Industry certification including "Certified Quantity Surveyor" and/or "Certified Construction Estimator";
  • Expertise in Trimble Accubid Anywhere, Livecount, Bluebeam
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and multi-tasking to prioritize workload and stay on top of things as project demands increase
  • Self-motivated with strong willingness and ability to learn and be challenged
  • Works effectively in team environment


This is a new position. Salary range is $92,000 - $109,000
