Job SummaryWe are seeking an Electrical/Process Engineer to join our growing Water Sector team. This role will support the planning, design, and implementation of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure.
Responsibilities & QualificationsKey Responsibilities
Develop single-line diagrams, load calculations, panel schedules, and power distribution designs for low- and medium-voltage systems.
Design and specify instrumentation and control (I&C) systems including flow, pressure, level, analytical sensors, and control valves.
Program, configure, and troubleshoot SCADA systems, PLCs, HMIs, and communication networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, radio/telemetry).
Prepare P&IDs, control narratives, I/O lists, and functional descriptions for treatment processes.
Support process engineering evaluations, equipment selection, and system optimization for water/wastewater treatment operations.
Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and process engineers to ensure integrated facility design.
Provide field support including startup, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical and control systems.
Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, ISA, and local utility requirements.
Prepare technical reports, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents.
Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and site assessments.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
P.Eng license in Ontario.
8–10+ years of experience in water/wastewater or industrial process facilities.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools.
Experience with PLC/SCADA platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Schneider, GE, Ignition, Wonderware).
Experience with facility condition assessments and backup power supply.
Strong understanding of process instrumentation and control logic.
Experience with roadway lighting and signalization would be an asset.

Additional InformationTYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $110,000-$125,000 for this position and local market.
