Job Title: Senior Electrical Designer
Location: Charlotte, NC
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $150,000.00 - $170,000.00
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design activities and provide technical direction within the electrical discipline for power generation, transmission, and industrial projects.
- Plan, execute, and review advanced electrical design scopes, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Serve as technical lead and design checker, mentoring junior designers and supporting constructability, field execution, and project delivery.
- Coordinate electrical design activities with engineering, construction, and other disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
- Design and lay out complex electrical systems, including raceway systems (underground ductbanks, cable tray, conduit, supports), lighting systems (interior, exterior, roadway, area), and grounding and bonding systems.
- Participate in design reviews, constructability evaluations, and client meetings.
- Provide field support through site visits, field verifications, redline, as-built documentation, and retrofit evaluations.
- Support procurement activities, including vendor coordination, submittal reviews, and installation support.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design practices, standards, and processes.
Requirements - High School Diploma or Associate Degree with appropriate drafting and design coursework
- Minimum 12+ years of electrical design experience, particularly in power generation and/or power infrastructure projects
- Experience serving in a Senior or Lead Electrical Designer role
- Strong working knowledge of electrical raceway systems, grounding and bonding, lighting systems, and power generation facility environments
- Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD tools, including AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable power industry standards
- Ability to work independently while providing leadership, guidance, and technical direction to others
- Willingness to travel and work in both office and field environments
