Full Job Description
We are seeking a senior electrical, instrumentation, controls, and SCADA professional to support and grow municipal water and wastewater projects throughout Northern California. The candidate will lead planning, design, programming, commissioning, and project delivery efforts for PLC, SCADA, networking, and industrial control system projects.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead electrical, instrumentation, controls, PLC, SCADA, and industrial networking projects for municipal water and wastewater facilities.
  • Develop and optimize process control strategies for treatment processes including filtration, chemical dosing, disinfection, pumping systems, PFAS treatment, and plant-wide automation.
  • Perform field investigations, system assessments, control narratives, P&ID reviews, functional design specifications, and commissioning activities.
  • Support SCADA modernization, PLC migrations, instrumentation upgrades, and integration of plant process data into operational dashboards and reporting systems.
  • Coordinate with operators, maintenance personnel, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver practical and reliable control system solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership, client management, mentoring, and quality assurance throughout project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • California PE license desired (or ability to obtain).
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial control systems and electrical engineering.
  • Strong background in water and wastewater treatment process controls, including PLCs, SCADA, HMI systems, instrumentation, MCCs, VFDs, and power distribution.
  • Experience supporting design, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of treatment plant automation systems.
  • Strong background with Schneider Automation (including legacy Quantum PLC's), Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley PLCs, FactoryTalk, Wonderware/AVEVA, or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated success providing technical leadership and client-facing support for municipal infrastructure projects.

Salary:
  • $150,000-$200,000
  • Based on experience, technical leadership capabilities, business development responsibilities, and existing client relationships.
