What You'll Do:As a Senior EIS Technical Manager, you will be responsible and accountable for the technical support, coordination, and performance management of Dyno Nobel's Electronic Initiation Systems (EIS) portfolio, including hardware, software, and associated electronic detonator products. Other duties include:
- Strengthens the connection between field operations, repair/service centers, product management, engineering, software, manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams.
- Ensures that recurring field issues are captured, investigated, documented, trended, communicated, and closed out in a controlled manner.
- Field Issue and CDR Management. Assess, prioritize, investigate and coordinate resolution of day-to-day field issues. Maintain clear records (root cause and corrective actions), product configuration, operating conditions, software version, equipment SN's and site context, for both CDR's and Non-CDR's.
- Prepare comprehensive CDR reports by consolidating technical evidence, event timelines, product data, test results, repair findings, field observations, root-cause and corrective actions.
- Manage and coordinate all product hardware, firmware, and equipment changes, upgrades, and updates throughout the product lifecycle.
- Ensure changes are properly assessed, documented, communicated, and implemented through effective coordination with Dyno Nobel, DetNet, and other key stakeholders.
- Provide product-specific guidance to internal stakeholders on Commander, Ranger, Navus, ViewShot, BlastWeb, and related products. Clarify intended operation, known issues, troubleshooting steps, and escalation requirements
- Support validation of maintenance software releases for all applicable products. Coordinate FTP (Field Trial Procedure), capture defects, validate fixes, and document release readiness concerns.
- Assist with field-trial planning, execution support, data capture, trial observations, issue documentation, and post-trial reporting, including ,product-improvement recommendations.
- Act as the "voice of the customer," leveraging field engagement, sales feedback, and customer interactions to identify opportunities for product and service improvements.
What We're Looking For:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline - advanced degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in the explosives industry, with a focus on Electronic Initiation Systems, marketing, or related commercial and technical roles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of energetic products, including a deep understanding of their technical characteristics, performance, and field applications.
- Understanding of market dynamics, customer segments, and the competitive landscape, with the ability to translate insights into effective product resolutions.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) level of understanding of Dyno Nobel EIS, including hardware (field equipment), and software platforms (hardware and PC).
- Practical understanding of field troubleshooting, blast-site conditions, customer support expectations, and urgency management.
- Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives
