We are seeking a Senior Network Security Specialist to support enterprise network operations, security evergreening and the integrity of network security controls. Starting September 14, 2026, this is a two-year, full-time position (37.5 hours per week) with possible overtime. The role is hybrid, requiring eight on-site days per month in Ottawa. Candidates must hold a valid Secret security clearance or have resided in Canada for at least five years to be eligible to obtain one. Responsibilities include resolving complex network security issues, mitigating risks and vulnerabilities, supporting deployment and disaster recovery testing, responding to security events and implementing upgrades, automation and continuous improvements.
The ideal candidate has a university degree or college diploma in a relevant technical field and at least five years of recent network operations and network security experience within enterprise environments. Required expertise includes Cisco switching and routing platforms, Check Point firewalls and security management platforms, along with experience in security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability remediation, network segmentation and secure network configuration. Candidates should also have experience with CI/CD, scalable high-availability service-oriented architectures, SCRUM and cross-functional delivery. Experience with ServiceNow and intelligent automation (IA) is considered an asset.
