Position Description

Valiant Solutions is seeking a Top Secret cleared Senior Network Engineer to join our rapidly growing and innovative team on an effort supporting our Federal Government Client in Huntsville, AL. Candidates in the Quantico, VA area may also be considered.

The ideal candidate will provide technical engineering support for our large federal government agency's highly complex network infrastructure environment, including multiple enclaves comprising various classification levels. Network engineering support includes all engineering activities required to support the standard information technology lifecycle. The ideal candidate will provide design and engineering activities in support of new network solutions for a multi-enclave enterprise network environment which encompasses various technology. In addition, the candidate will provide network support on an as-needed basis to resolve networking issues that have not been resolved by the first three support tiers.

This position is 100% onsite (there may be an opportunity for limited telework after onboarding and training).

Requirements:
  • Active Top Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain SCI
    • Successful completion of a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph administered by the customer is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and
    • Minimum of six (6) years of experience designing, developing, and implementing network solutions (e.g. BA/BS +6 years)
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting complex Local Area Networking (LAN) issues and resolving Wide Area Networking (WAN) problems and supporting of cost-effective, high-performance IP and LAN/WAN solutions.
  • Extensive experience with Cisco routing platforms, such as Aggregation Services Routers (ASRs)
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of routing protocols and technologies, including BGP, EIGRP, DMVPN, GRE
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Layer 2 technologies, including STP, MST, VLANS
  • Experience providing Tier 3 support and issue resolution
  • Experience with network design and traffic engineering
  • Experience providing senior-level engineering support
  • Experience with TACLANE systems


Preferred Additional Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center (DNAC)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher
  • Experience with SDWAN implementation and operations
  • Experience in network engineering within the federal intelligence community
  • Ability to adhere to a disciplined troubleshooting methodology, and ensure task/mission completion, along with creating and maintaining necessary information
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with attention to detail


Responsibilities:
  • Gather user network requirements utilizing multiple methodologies to provide necessary technical documentation, system requirements documents, systems security requirements documents, and system test plan.
  • Install, maintain and evaluate network systems and communications systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues involving various protocols, topologies, networking hardware, etc.
  • Conduct network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of internetworking, computer systems, routers, switches, firewalls, and peripherals to enhance understanding of current network designs and to collaborate with other team members to develop new network designs.
  • Apply technical and business experience and understanding to improve processes and procedures for deploying and maintaining network infrastructure.
  • Work independently and collectively to help improve network solutions and contribute to network service improvements.

The salary range for this position is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. It has been benchmarked in relation to the scope of the role, market rate, and internal equity. The salary for this role is expected to be in the $130,000 - $140,000 range. Where a candidate falls within the band can be determined based on one or more of the following: skillset, experience level, achievements, education, geographic location, security clearance, involvement in corporate tasks, and other non-discriminatory factors. In addition to the base salary, this role will include benefits as described above. Valiant reserves the right to adjust the salary range, experience requirements, and position responsibilities at any time without prior notice.

Physical Demands
