Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Network Engineer with 10+ years of expertise in designing, implementing, securing, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with network security, routing and switching, Palo Alto firewalls, cloud networking, and network automation technologies. This role will be responsible for ensuring a resilient, scalable, and secure network environment while driving operational improvements through automation and modern networking solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across on-premise data centers, branch locations, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot routing and switching technologies to ensure network stability, performance, and scalability.
• Deploy, administer, and support Palo Alto firewalls, including policy management, NAT, VPN configuration, threat prevention, URL filtering, and security rule optimization.
• Manage and maintain network security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, segmentation controls, and secure remote access solutions.
• Support network segmentation and isolation strategies to protect sensitive data and critical systems.
• Implement and support secure connectivity between on-premise infrastructure, cloud platforms, and remote users.
• Configure and maintain load-balancing solutions to support high availability and application performance.
• Support the deployment and operational management of SD-WAN, SDN, and other modern networking technologies.
• Monitor network health, availability, and capacity while performing performance analysis, troubleshooting, and proactive tuning.
• Create and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, standard operating procedures, and implementation plans.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud engineering, systems, and application teams to deliver secure and scalable network solutions.
• Develop and implement network automation solutions using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Utilize Python, Ansible, Terraform, and REST APIs to automate network deployments, firewall administration, monitoring, and reporting.
• Evaluate emerging networking technologies to improve network operations, visibility, and service reliability.
• Stay current with networking, security, and automation best practices.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise routing and switching technologies (Cisco, Juniper, or similar platforms).
• Proven experience managing and troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls, including security policies, NAT, VPNs, and advanced threat prevention.
• Strong knowledge of network security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, network segmentation, and secure access controls.
• Experience supporting secure networking solutions across on-premise and cloud environments, including AWS and Azure.
• Familiarity with SDN, SD-WAN, and modern network architecture principles.
• Experience with load balancing, high availability, and network performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with network automation using Python and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or REST APIs.
• Experience with network monitoring, capacity planning, performance analysis, and root cause troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Certifications
• CCNP certification.
• Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).
• AWS Certified Advanced Networking certification.
• Azure Network Engineer Associate certification.
• Equivalent industry networking certifications are highly desirable.
