Full Job Description
Senior Network Engineer

Location: Hudson Valley, NY (Hybrid)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
Classification: Exempt

What You'll Do

As a Senior Network Engineer, you'll lead and execute complex infrastructure projects while serving as a trusted technical resource for both clients and internal teams.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Designing and implementing secure, scalable enterprise network solutions
  • Deploying and supporting routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, VPNs, and related infrastructure
  • Leading network refreshes, migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and modernization projects
  • Performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex networking issues
  • Optimizing network performance, availability, and security
  • Conducting infrastructure assessments and recommending strategic improvements
  • Collaborating with engineers, project managers, and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Creating technical documentation, implementation plans, and network diagrams
  • Mentoring junior engineers and sharing technical expertise across the team
  • Participating in scheduled after-hours maintenance windows when projects require minimal client disruption

Travel Expectations

This role includes regular travel to client locations throughout the Hudson Valley and surrounding regions.

Travel varies based on active projects and client needs. During our busiest season-particularly throughout the summer months when many clients complete technology refreshes, infrastructure upgrades, and school district projects-you should expect increased travel and time onsite to support successful project execution.

If you enjoy getting out from behind a desk, working hands-on with technology, and seeing projects through from start to finish, you'll find this role both rewarding and challenging.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication and a passion for delivering exceptional client experiences.

Qualifications include:
  • 6+ years of enterprise network engineering experience
  • Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNP) certification required
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, ACLs, BGP, and OSPF
  • Experience configuring and supporting Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki, Aruba, Ubiquiti, or similar enterprise networking platforms
  • Hands-on experience implementing and supporting firewalls and network security technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience using network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, or similar platforms
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and client relationship skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced consulting or managed services environment
  • Valid driver's license with the ability and willingness to travel regularly to client locations

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification strongly preferred
  • Additional certifications such as Fortinet NSE, PCNSE, Aruba Professional, or equivalent are a plus
  • Experience supporting multiple client environments or managed service providers (MSPs)
  • Experience with cloud networking and hybrid infrastructure environments
