Your Role:The Senior Director, TSMS will be responsible for providing technical and strategic leadership for the Elanco monoclonal antibody (mAb) portfolio and supporting the growing mAb product pipeline. Based at the Elwood, Kansas manufacturing facility, the position is a key member of the Site Leadership team and has direct oversight over the local Technical Services & Manufacturing Science (TSMS) function with responsibility for business planning, management of the department, and recruitment / talent development.
Your Responsibilities: Technical & Site Leadership: Lead all Technical Services & Manufacturing Science (TSMS) activities at the Elwood facility and across the mAb network, serving as a global Subject Matter Expert (SME) to align technical operations with long-range corporate strategic goals.
End-to-End Technology Transfer: Orchestrate the seamless transfer of mAb technologies from R&D to commercial manufacturing, ensuring rigorous manufacturability reviews, scale-up, and validation are completed on time with robust process control strategies.
Operational Excellence & Growth: Drive continuous improvement and due diligence initiatives to optimize productivity, gross margin, and capacity, while managing capital budgets and evaluating third-party sourcing opportunities to support global business expansion.
Quality, Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Elanco Global Quality, cGMP, and HSE standards, maintaining robust process controls and a proactive safety culture to guarantee product integrity and continuity of supply.
Talent & Organizational Development: Build and mentor a high-performing TSMS organization by recruiting top talent, establishing clear performance objectives, and fostering a culture of continuous professional development and regulatory readiness.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):- Education: Bachelor's degree in a biomanufacturing related discipline (eg. biology, chemistry, engineering, etc.).
- 15+ years' experience in a regulated, commercial manufacturing environment, including 10+ years demonstrating successful leadership and supervisory experience.
- 5+ years' experience in development and/or manufacture of monoclonal antibody products
