As Sr Director of Business Development at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will be a strategic leader advancing growth and innovation across our enterprise. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, developing long-term strategies, and establishing critical partnerships. You will work directly with senior leadership to identify and develop market opportunities, lead M&A initiatives, and contribute to the strategic direction of the business. Through collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will develop and execute comprehensive business plans while building strong relationships with key stakeholders and customers. Your impact will extend globally as you help advance our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in business development, strategy, or similar role within life sciences, diagnostics, or medical device industries
• Preferred Fields of Study: business, life sciences, or related field
• Demonstrated success in M&A, partnerships, and complex deal execution
• Strong expertise in developing and implementing long-term business strategies
• Proven ability to guide strategic planning processes and support business growth initiatives
• Experience working with cross-functional global teams and building consensus
• Advanced financial modeling and analysis capabilities
• Strong presentation and relationship-building skills at senior levels
• Deep understanding of R&D, Marketing, and Sales in global markets
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Ability to travel up to 40% internationally
• Commitment to continuous improvement
• Experience in management consulting or investment banking preferred
• Demonstrated success in talent development and team leadership
• Proficiency in analyzing market trends and competitive landscapes
• Strong business acumen and ability to communicate complex concepts effectively
Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $192,700.00-$285,000.00.
