DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Mission Systems' Navigation, Intelligence, and Connectivity (NIC) Division has an immediate opening for a
Senior Director of Strategic Planning. This position will report to the Vice President and General Manager of NIC, and the preferred location is one of our NIC locations. Will consider candidates located at another Northrop Grumman facility with proper SCIF/SAPF accessibility to conduct NIC work.
This position is a leadership role within the NIC Division that is responsible for shaping and driving the strategic direction of the division. This role involves market analysis, competitive positioning, and engagement with key stakeholders to identify growth opportunities. The person in this role possesses a deep understanding of the industry, emerging technologies, and the ability to design roadmaps to help position the division for long-term success.
The position will be responsible for the following:
- Develop and implement the strategic roadmap for the NIC business, aligning with corporate and sector objectives.
- Deliver clear, actionable analysis and synthesis of competitive, technological, budgetary, and business area events and trends
- Provide strategic guidance to the business units and sector for long-range strategy development
- Assess our portfolio and recommend areas for strategic growth investment
- Manage partnership and MA&D activities on behalf of the Division
- Identify and assess new business opportunities, partnerships, and market trends applicable to NIC business
- Engage with key customers, government agencies and industry partners (traditional and non-traditional) to identify collaboration and growth opportunities.
- Develop strategies for new market entry and technology investments.
- Support business development teams in positioning products, services, and solutions for future contracts.
- Work closely with R&D and engineering teams to align technology investments with market needs.
- Provide strategic recommendations on investment in advanced capabilities.
- Monitor and assess the impact of policy, regulations, and geopolitical developments on business strategy.
- Engage with industry associations, regulatory bodies, and government stakeholders to advocate for policies that benefit the company's interests.
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Dynamic self-starter with strong attention to detail, strong work ethic, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Experience building and leading high-performing teams
- Strong interpersonal skills that ensure collaborative and trusting relationships with all levels of the organization, including executive leadership and technical experts
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop and deliver executive level presentations
- Knowledge of US Government requirements, programming, budgeting, and acquisition processes
- U.S. Citizenship and a minimum of an active US Government SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI; OR DoE equivalent with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
- Ability to obtain SAP clearances
Preferred Qualifications:Primary Level Salary Range: $231,100.00 - $363,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
