Job Summary:

The Senior Director, Regional General Manager is a member of the Operations Leadership Team and is primarily responsible for the successful development, communication and execution of a culture that delivers an experience of a lifetime for our employees and guests. This role will oversee resort operations at Wilmot in Wisconsin, Mt Brighton in Michigan, Hidden Valley and Snow Creek in Missouri, and will be based out of one of these locations. In close partnership and alignment with the Regional VP, this position has full business ownership and oversite of their sub-region. As a member of the Region's senior leadership team, the position executes in the development, communication and implementation of company and resort strategic goals & initiatives for long term growth.

Job Specifications:
  • Starting Wage: $110,000 - $156,000 + annual bonus + equity

Job Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize and adapt in a constantly changing business and environmental setting.
  • Be accountable for business performance of the resorts in their scope including expense management and revenue generation while meeting or exceeding all metrics and goals.
  • Be an expert in mobilizing enterprise resources to execute complex business strategies
  • Lead a sphere of influence that includes indirect management of resort functions and partnership of corporate functions including Sales & Marketing, Information Technology, Finance, HR, Development, and others.
  • Become a leader in the enterprise through the development and execution of progressive and smart strategic, master, and capital plans.
  • Be an Inspirational leader with the ability to form effective internal and external business partnerships that influence the business.
  • Responsible for maintaining a fully staffed organization as well as the on-going training and development of all direct reports. Develops and maintains a succession planning strategy in line with the organization's talent philosophy.
  • Stay abreast of ski industry trends and news; grow industry relationships and expertise. Use expertise to influence positive change throughout Vail Resorts.
  • Ensure all company records are updated and that the necessary permits are in place for continued operation and Ski Area is fully compliant with local, state and federal rules and laws
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or a minimum of 10+ years of multi-unit leadership experience with growing levels of responsibility.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and initiate action against financial reports.

  • Ability to think strategically, understand sophisticated business challenges and formulate effective solutions designed to improve results.

The expected pay range is $110,000 - $156,000 + annual bonus + equity. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
