Full Job Description
Your Opportunity:

Assisted Living Alberta (ALA) is seeking an accomplished senior executive to serve as Senior Provincial Director, Provincial Quality, Client Experience and Accreditation. Reporting to the Executive Lead, Planning, Performance and Quality, this role will shape a province-wide approach to quality, safety, accountability, and client experience across Alberta's continuing care system. The Senior Provincial Director will establish and advance an integrated framework for quality assurance, accreditation, complaints management, client experience, and continuous improvement. Through independent oversight, transparent monitoring, and evidence-informed decision-making, the role will look to strengthen public confidence and support safe, high-quality, person-centred care. Working with government partners, operators, accreditation bodies, clients, families, and healthcare leaders, the successful candidate will influence provincial strategy, identify and mitigate quality risks, and translate feedback, audit findings, and accreditation results into meaningful system improvement. This is an opportunity to lead a significant provincial portfolio, guide a multidisciplinary team, and create consistent, trusted quality practices that improve the experiences and outcomes of Albertans receiving continuing care services.

Description:

The Senior Provincial Director, Provincial Quality, Client Experience and Accreditation provides executive leadership for ALA's provincial quality assurance, accreditation, client experience, complaints management, and continuous improvement functions. The role establishes governance, standards, audit and monitoring processes, accreditation readiness strategies, and client feedback mechanisms that support safe, high-quality, person-centred care and services. Operating independently from clinical service delivery, the position strengthens accountability, transparency, and consistency across ALA and contracted service providers. The Senior Provincial Director identifies emerging and systemic quality risks, monitors compliance with legislative and accreditation requirements, and ensures client and family concerns are received, investigated, resolved, and escalated through a fair, timely, and centralized process, including the Patient Concerns Officer function. The role leads a provincial team, including four direct and 61 indirect reports, and collaborates with executive, clinical, operational, financial, planning, government, and external partners. Findings from complaints, audits, accreditation reviews, and client feedback are translated into policy, service standards, education, performance reporting, and system-level improvement.
