Senior Director, Professional Services - U.S. Public Sector (Federal)

Clearance: Active U.S. government security clearance strongly preferred (Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI). U.S. citizenship required.

About the Job

The Wind RiverX LLC Professional Services team is looking for a Senior Director, Professional Services to lead our federal consulting business. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategy, growth, delivery quality, and financial performance of our consulting services across Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and federal civilian agencies. You'll lead a team of consulting managers, architects, and engineers who help mission owners modernize their platforms with Wind RiverX's open hybrid cloud, container, Linux, and automation portfolio.

You will be a senior member of the WRX leadership team, partnering closely with federal sales, channel, and product engineering to ensure our customers achieve measurable mission outcomes. You will report to the President, WRX. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Wind RiverX LLC is registered to do business; the Washington, D.C. metro area is preferred but not mandatory.

What You Will Do

  • Own the P&L for federal professional services, including bookings, revenue, margin, utilization, and forecast accuracy


  • Build and lead a high-performing, cleared delivery organization of managers, architects, project managers, and consultants serving DoD, IC, and civilian agency customers


  • Set the federal services go-to-market strategy in partnership with WRX sales leadership; shape offerings around mission priorities such as embedded edge computing, DevSecOps, AI/ML at the edge.


  • Serve as the executive sponsor on the agency's most strategic engagements; build trusted-advisor relationships with senior federal executives, SES leaders, program managers, and prime integrators


  • Partner with capture and sales teams on pursuits, statements of work, and proposal responses for direct awards, GSA, SEWP, and other federal vehicles


  • Drive delivery excellence and customer success across a portfolio of complex, mission-critical engagements, including those operating in classified environments


  • Grow strategic relationships with federal systems integrators and key channel partners; ensure Wind RiverX services are well-positioned within prime and sub teaming arrangements


  • Champion the recruiting, development, retention, and clearance sponsorship of a diverse team of public sector consultants


  • Represent Wind RiverX Services at federal industry events, customer executive briefings, and with partner ecosystems


  • Operate within a matrixed global organization, collaborating with finance, legal, contracts, HR, and Wind River's global services leadership


What You Will Bring

  • 10+ years of professional services or consulting leadership experience, with at least 5 years leading federal practices at a software vendor, systems integrator, or major consulting firm


  • Demonstrated P&L ownership of a services business at $50M+ scale


  • Deep familiarity with the federal acquisition lifecycle, federal contracting vehicles (GSA, SEWP, Alliant, etc.), and the partner ecosystem serving DoD, IC, and civilian agencies


  • Proven track record building and scaling cleared delivery teams, including managing facility security requirements, clearance sponsorship, and staffing classified engagements


  • Strong technical fluency across hybrid cloud, container platforms, Linux, automation, and DevSecOps; ability to engage credibly with both CIOs and technical practitioners


  • Executive presence with senior federal customers and prime integrator leadership


  • Experience operating in a matrixed, global organization


  • Bachelor's degree required


  • Active U.S. government security clearance preferred (Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI). Candidates without an active clearance must be willing and eligible to obtain one. U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
