Full Job Description
The Senior Director, Patient Financial Experience - Managed Services provides enterprise-level leadership for Patient Financial operations for a managed services client. This role is accountable for access strategy, operational performance, financial clearance outcomes, patient billing, patient experience, regulatory compliance. The Senior Director leads Directors and Managers and serves as the primary executive partner to client leaders, ensuring standardized, high-performing Patient Financial operations that integrate seamlessly with downstream and upstream Revenue Cycle functions. Enterprise Leadership & Governance • Provide strategic and operational leadership for Patient Access functions across including registration, eligibility, authorization, financial clearance, pre-service estimates, point-of-service collections. • Provide strategic and operational leadership for Guarantor Billing operations including billing, customer service and financial counseling. • Guide and direct subordinate Directors and Managers, establishing clear accountability, performance expectations, and operating cadence. • Develop and implement enterprise Patient Access policies, procedures, and control frameworks to ensure consistency, compliance • Develops and implements Patient Billing policies, procedures to ensure accurate and compliant patient billing. Performance & Financial Stewardship • Own Patient Access performance metrics, including access throughput, eligibility accuracy, authorization timeliness, financial clearance rates, POS collections readiness, and patient experience indicators. • Analyze operational and revenue cycle data to identify access-related risks, leakage drivers, and improvement opportunities; lead corrective action plans. • Partner with downstream Revenue Cycle leaders to ensure strong front-end integrity and end-to-end financial outcomes. • Own patient billing collection performance metrics, vendor relationships and compliance with federal and state billing regulations. Client & Stakeholder Partnership • Serve as the senior managed services leader for Patient Access and Patient Billing with client executives and operational stakeholders. • Ensure contractual commitments, SLAs, and performance expectations are met or exceeded • Represent Patient Access and Guarantor Billing in governance forums, executive reviews, and cross-functional planning discussions. Talent Development & Organizational Effectiveness • Build, develop, and retain high-performing Patient Access and Customer Service leadership team • Establish training, education, and readiness programs to strengthen access capabilities and leadership bench strength. • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and patient-centered service excellence. Compliance & Risk Management • Ensure Patient Access and Guarantor Billing operations comply with all federal, state, local, and payer regulations, including financial clearance, patient communication requirements and state and federal billing regulations. • Proactively identify regulatory, operational, and client risks related to access and financial clearance; escalate and resolve as appropriate. • Core Qualifications • Minimum 10 years of Patient Access experience in a multi-site or enterprise access environment • Minimum 5 years' experience at a Director level or higher • Proven executive-level leadership experience in Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, or Managed Services operations. • Demonstrated success leading multi-site or enterprise access operations with Director- and Manager-level leaders. • Strong analytical capability with expertise in performance metrics, risk identification, and operational scaling. • Deep understanding of healthcare access, financial clearance, patient billing and regulatory environments. • Executive presence with the ability to influence and partner with senior client and internal stakeholders. The estimated salary range for this job is $160,000 - $224,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron's annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron's pay for performance philosophy and Huron's benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
