Full Job Description
An integral part of the leadership team, NADAP's Senior Director of Workforce Programs provides leadership and operational oversight of NADAP's workforce development programs across New York City, Nassau County, and Upstate New York. The role is responsible for program development, performance, contract compliance, service delivery, budget oversight, staff management, and the successful implementation of workforce development and retention initiatives. The Senior Director partners across departments and with external stakeholders to strengthen operations, support funding and performance goals, and enhance program quality and outcomes.

Essential Functions
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of workforce development and employment programs to ensure quality service delivery and contract compliance.
  • Develop and maintain systems to track program performance, outcomes, workflows, and operational effectiveness. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of program outcomes, contract deliverables, and operational data.
  • Ensure programs meet performance milestones, deliverables, enrollment targets, placement goals, retention outcomes, and all contractual obligations.
  • Monitor program metrics and identify operational risks, service gaps, and opportunities for improvement and lead continuous quality improvement efforts to strengthen program performance and participant outcomes.
  • Recruit, supervise, coach, and develop directors, managers, and program staff. Build and maintain high-performing teams through ongoing leadership development and performance management.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with government agencies, funders, employers, and community-based partners.
  • Support organizational growth through participation in funding opportunities, partnership development, and workforce initiatives.

Education & Experience
  • This position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, lead across teams and departments, and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Senior Dir. Of Workforce Development is expected to operate with a high degree of professionalism, accountability, collaboration, and strategic thinking while supporting organizational growth and mission impact.
  • Master's degree required in Social Work, Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Services, or related fields. Bachelor's degree with significant leadership experience may be considered in lieu of a Master's degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in workforce development, human services, or related fields. Minimum of 3 years supervising managers, directors, or multi-site teams.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing performance-based contracts and workforce development programs. Strong knowledge of workforce development systems, employment programming, retention services, and barrier reduction strategies.
  • Experience managing complex operations, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with government-funded programs and multiple funding streams preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong operational, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret program data, identify trends, and implement operational improvements.
  • The role will require travel between program sites, and occasional community meetings, funder meetings, and organizational events.

This role has flexibility for a hybrid schedule. It can also be based in New York City or split between NADAP's midtown office and Hempstead, NY depending on the employee's geographical preference.

Salary $130,000-$140,000
