Full Job Description
As Senior Director, US Government Affairs & Policy, you will lead Einride's federal and state-level political strategy in the United States. You'll build the institutional relationships, design the policy playbooks, and create the strategic activations that open markets, earn credibility, and position Einride as the defining voice in autonomous and electric freight policy in America. The strategic component to this role is also substantial; you will set the long-term strategy for policy and establish the frameworks, assets, partnerships, and arguments required for commercial-scale autonomy. You will: - Lead federal and state strategy, manage DC presence, and build institutional trust with regulators and agencies. - Design creative playbooks and "campaign-style" activations to advance Einride's positions and scale autonomous freight. - Build long-term footprints with ports, universities, and industry coalitions to drive the commercial pipeline. - Partner with Comms to win media attention and shape the public narrative around autonomous freight. - Leverage government relationships to secure PPPs, support RFPs, and convert political interest into contracts. - Represent Einride at industry events and congressional briefings as a leading voice in policy. We expect you to have: - 10-15 years of experience in government affairs or political strategy, with deep ties to Washington D.C. and federal institutions. - Proven track record in complex, fast-moving sectors like technology, mobility, energy, or defense. - Experience building government affairs functions from the ground up, including managing external lobbyists and coalitions. - Ability to develop proactive regulatory frameworks and model legislation rather than just reacting to existing processes. - Skilled at translating policy outcomes into business opportunities and tangible commercial results. - Exceptional public affairs and media experience; able to represent the company at the highest levels of government. This is a full-time, US-based position. While remote work is an option, candidates located in Washington, D.C. are preferred. You will be part of a truly diverse, high performing team with a common passion for sustainability and making things happen in an innovative way. We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible since selection and interviews are held continually.
