Scope

The Head of Accounting is responsible for the company's GAAP oversight, prime liaise with banks & auditors, and should have the disposition to relish in process improvement or chart of accounts enhancement. Frequent communication with the CFO, VP of Operations, CEO, and VP of Sales. Come operate in this high performing, cohesive and business focused Finance organization.

As a previous Corporate Controller, Director of Accounting, VP Controller, Sr. Director of Financial Reporting at complex, global, manufacturing, or product-based companies this role could be for you. You will be a key player of coach for your team who manages and run management, general ledger, corporate accounting, financial reporting, transactional accounting, payroll, and the occasional post-acquisition integration.

Principal Duties:

  • Oversee accounting and financial reporting functions, including the monthly/quarterly/annual close processes, F/S preparation, technical accounting policies, tax planning, and outsourced VAT partner.
  • Evaluate & forecast operating expenditures, CapEx, continuous improvement projects, and productivity initiatives.
  • Along with CFO and VP of FP&A support defining company's financial strategy to drive revenue opportunities, cost savings and efficiency improvements
  • Develop and maintain all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting.
  • Manage company cash flow and liquidity.
  • Provides training and mentorship to new and existing employees as they like to promote from within.
  • Promote or hire from outside the firm as you will develop a high octane team to preside over the entire accounting cycle, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), inventory management (standard costing), payroll, and general ledger.
  • Team up with external M&A advisory firm on due diligence and integration work on acquisitions, strategic dispositions, and tactical tuck-in purchases.
  • Ensure debt covenant compliance, global cash management with domestic and international vendors, & streamlining of cloud-based tools for daily cash reporting.
  • Preparation of ad hoc financial analysis to assist in data driven business decisions.
  • Enhance relationships with audit committee, advisory board, board of directors, software vendors, audit and tax firms.
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring and updating already effective internal controls.


All Things Deemed Good:
  • Manufacturing, Distribution, eCommerce, D2C, or product-based environments
  • ERP Experience such as NetSuite, MS Dynamics 365, Acumatica, SAP, Oracle, Workday, MS Business Central, JD Edwards, MS Dynamics GP or Intacct
  • Ability to strategize and problem solve with keen attention to detail.
  • Readiness to be hands-on jointly working with the team on various projects.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills to encourage cooperation throughout this organization as well as with suppliers
