Purpose and Job Summary:
The Senior Director of Asset Management will serve as a senior member of the Multifamily Equity Investments team, with responsibility for driving investment performance across the multifamily equity platform and REO equity holdings. The Senior Director will lead asset-level strategy, oversee business plan execution, support new investment underwriting, and coordinate with internal stakeholders, operating partners, third-party property managers, lenders, consultants, and other external partners. The position will be based in Dallas and report to the Managing Director of the multifamily equity platform.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead asset management strategy for multifamily equity investments, including development, execution, and ongoing refinement of asset-level business plans.
- Oversee operating performance, capital plans, leasing strategy, revenue management, expense controls, and value-creation initiatives across assigned assets.
- Partner with acquisitions and investment teams to evaluate new multifamily equity opportunities through underwriting, diligence, market analysis, business plan formation, and investment committee materials.
- Review and challenge operating budgets, reforecasts, cash flow projections, exit valuations, sensitivities, and hold/sell analyses to support portfolio decision-making
- Direct the preparation of asset-level recommendations for senior management, including strategic hold/sell decisions, capital expenditure approvals, financing considerations, and business plan changes.
- Manage third-party property managers and operating partners, including regular performance reviews, site visits, operational meetings, and execution of strategic initiatives.
- Monitor macro and micro market fundamentals, competitive supply, rent growth, concessions, occupancy, expenses, and capital markets trends to inform asset strategy and underwriting assumptions.
- Produce and review monthly and quarterly asset and portfolio reporting, including variance analysis, KPI tracking, business plan progress, and investor or internal management updates.
- Coordinate with legal, accounting, tax, risk, insurance, construction, and finance teams on asset-level matters and transaction-related deliverables.
- Mentor and develop junior team members by reviewing analyses, providing underwriting guidance, and promoting consistent asset management standards.

Education, Skills and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required; degree in finance, real estate, economics, accounting, business, or related field preferred
- 15+ years of direct multifamily real estate investment and asset management experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing multifamily assets and executing asset-level business plans, including capital projects, operating strategy, budget oversight, and performance monitoring.
- Strong understanding of multifamily operations, valuation, capital markets, financing, hold/sell analysis, and institutional investment processes.
- Advanced financial modeling skills, including cash flow forecasting, exit valuation, sensitivity analysis, scenario analysis, and investment return metrics.
- Ability to synthesize market data, operating results, and financial analysis into clear recommendations for senior management and investment committees.
- Experience with leading industry market data providers including CoStar, Yardi Matrix, Green Street, MSCI/RCA, RealPage, and other relevant platforms.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to produce executive-ready analysis and presentation materials.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, problem-solving, written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead multiple assignments, assets, and transaction-related workstreams simultaneously while meeting critical deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and use discretion in the performance of daily activities.
- Proven ability to work independently, collaborate across functions, and contribute to a high-performance team environment.
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure, adjust priorities in a changing environment, and manage time-sensitive deliverables.
Preferred:
- MBA, CFA, CPA, or other relevant graduate degree or professional designation preferred.
- Broad, geographically diverse experience across multiple markets.
- Ability to effectively manage a diverse range of asset types and business plans, including Class A through Class C properties and both lease-up and stabilized assets.
