The Senior Director, Head of Technology, Heart Recovery is the global technology leader accountable for shaping and executing the Heart Recovery technology strategy and operating model across markets, functions, and sites, in alignment with Johnson & Johnson MedTech priorities and in partnership with regional and enterprise teams. The role provides end-to-end business technology leadership across the full value chain—including Commercial, Supply Chain, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Customer Experience, Service, Clinical, and post-market operations—and owns technology strategy, architecture, platforms, digital products, data, AI, cybersecurity, and transformation from strategy through adoption and measurable value realization.

As a business strategist and product-minded technology executive, this leader partners closely with the Heart Recovery Leadership Team to accelerate growth, improve customer and patient outcomes, strengthen operational resilience, and create competitive advantage. The role connects global business strategy with technology execution by scaling data, AI, digital platforms, automation, and secure-by-design capabilities across the enterprise—not as functional IT support, but as an integrated driver of end-to-end business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Outcomes

•            Own the global Heart Recovery technology strategy and execution across markets, functions, and sites, partnering with regional and enterprise technology teams to ensure alignment, scale, and effective delivery.

•            Serve as the strategic technology partner to the Heart Recovery business, jointly identifying opportunities and applying technology to enable growth, differentiated customer and patient experiences, and competitive advantage.

•            Provide end-to-end business technology leadership across Commercial, Supply Chain, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Customer Experience, Service, Clinical, and post-market operations.

•            Define and execute the multi-year technology strategy, architecture, and operating model; translate business priorities into integrated product, platform, data, and capability roadmaps with clear outcomes.

•            Own the Heart Recovery technology investment portfolio and operating plans, establishing governance, metrics, and performance management from prioritization and funding through delivery, adoption, and value realization.

•            Drive global operating model effectiveness, simplification, interoperability, and resilient architectures that meet current and future business needs.

AI, Data, and Digital

•            Own the strategy, scaling, governance, and enterprise adoption of AI/ML, GenAI, automation, advanced analytics, and data products across Heart Recovery. Establish responsible AI and data governance, enable interoperable data platforms, build AI fluency across the organization, and ensure initiatives progress beyond pilots to deliver measurable growth, productivity, customer, patient, quality, and operational outcomes.

Product Management & Delivery

•            Own technology strategy, enterprise and solution architecture, platforms, and digital products for Heart Recovery, ensuring coherent design, lifecycle management, and alignment with MedTech and enterprise standards.

•            Act as accountable executive product owner for critical Heart Recovery technology platforms and products, embedding product-centric ways of working that connect roadmaps, architecture, customer needs, OKRs, and dependable delivery.

•            Own the business technology portfolio from strategy and prioritization through funding, delivery, change enablement, adoption, benefits tracking, and ROI realization.

Financials & Governance

•            Develop and manage a fit-for-purpose global Heart Recovery technology budget, ensuring investment decisions align with business value, risk, resilience, and regulatory requirements.

•            Own the technology risk and cyber resilience agenda across the regulated MedTech environment, including product cybersecurity, secure-by-design practices, data protection, privacy, third-party risk management, business continuity, disaster recovery, and recovery planning.

•            Ensure compliance with quality, cybersecurity, regulatory, privacy, and software/service requirements, partnering with Quality, Regulatory, Legal, Privacy, enterprise security, and business leaders across global and regional jurisdictions.

Leadership and Talent

•            Build and lead a high-performing, globally connected, future-ready technology organization with the capabilities to deliver across the full Heart Recovery value chain.

•            Embed AI fluency, product-centric ways of working, continuous learning, and disciplined change leadership; attract, develop, and retain world-class talent.

•            Lead global teams through transformation, coaching leaders and people managers to create clarity, accountability, inclusion, agility, and high engagement.

•            Own strategic workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and leadership bench strength for critical technology capabilities and roles.

•            Model Credo-based leadership and foster an inclusive, learning-oriented culture focused on growth, collaboration, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
