Senior Director, Portfolio Marketing LeadAs the Senior Director, Portfolio Marketing Lead, you are accountable for leading the Portfolio Marketing Engine as a shared strategic marketing delivery capability that translates Community and Indication Strategy Lead direction into high-quality activation, optimization, and measurable business impact across Neurology and Rheumatology. You will lead a versatile team of marketers deployed dynamically against the highest-priority brand, launch, lifecycle, and customer needs.
Reporting directly to the VP, HCP Experience, you will set the Portfolio Marketing operating model, lead resource prioritization and deployment, and build scalable marketing capabilities and talent. You will partner closely with Therapeutic Community Leads, Indication Strategy Leads, Customer Engagement & Experience, Business Planning & Readiness, and cross-functional partners to connect strategy to strategic delivery and ensure the right marketing capabilities are deployed at the right time.
Roles & ResponsibilitiesPortfolio Marketing Leadership & Resource Deployment
- Set the vision, operating model, standards, and ways of working for Portfolio Marketing as a shared strategic marketing delivery capability across therapeutic communities.
- Translate enterprise and community priorities into clear Portfolio Marketing priorities that balance customer and business impact, continuity, speed, quality, and resource flexibility.
- Lead the demand, prioritization, staffing, and deployment model, maintaining visibility to capacity, capability, timing, and competing business needs.
- Partner with the VP, HCP Experience, Therapeutic Community Leads, and Indication Strategy Leads to determine the right level and mix of support and recommend resource trade-offs as priorities evolve.
- Balance embedded continuity with flexible and surge capacity, enabling resources to shift across brands, indications, launches, and lifecycle priorities while preserving business context and delivery momentum.
- Anticipate future demand, capability gaps, and delivery risks and refine the deployment model based on business impact, stakeholder feedback, and portfolio needs.
Strategic Marketing Delivery & Performance
- Ensure Portfolio Marketing translates Community and Indication Strategy Lead direction into integrated marketing approaches, activation plans, and measurable outcomes.
- Provide senior marketing counsel and coaching across launch activation, customer engagement, omnichannel delivery, congress strategy and execution, performance optimization, and agency leadership.
- Ensure teams apply strong marketing judgment, customer and market context, and differentiated expertise to determine how strategies come to life.
- Establish common standards for strategic delivery, briefing, cross-functional coordination, measurement, optimization, and quality.
- Use customer response, field feedback, channel performance, and other data to embed test-and-learn practices and improve marketing effectiveness.
- Scale reusable approaches, AI-enabled ways of working, automation, and cross-portfolio learning to improve speed, quality, consistency, and efficiency.
- Set expectations for strong agency leadership while partnering with Business Planning & Readiness on vendor governance, procurement, contracting standards, and enterprise vendor processes.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Ways of Working
- Build strong partnerships with the VP, HCP Experience, Therapeutic Community Leads, Indication Strategy Leads, Customer Engagement & Experience, and cross-functional partners to align priorities, capacity, and delivery expectations.
- Establish clear interfaces and decision rights between strategy owners, Portfolio Marketing, and shared capabilities, addressing resource conflicts and escalating major trade-offs as needed.
- Partner with Business Planning & Readiness to maintain clear handoffs between strategic marketing delivery and the processes, platforms, measurement infrastructure, and vendor standards that enable execution at scale.
- Model collaborative, agile, and non-hierarchical ways of working that enable rapid problem-solving while maintaining clear accountability for outcomes.
Team & Capability Building
- Lead, coach, and develop a versatile Portfolio Marketing team with varied levels of experience and differentiated marketing expertise.
- Build a strong bench of marketers with depth across launch activation, omnichannel, customer engagement, congress execution, performance optimization, and agency management.
- Create development pathways through rotations, stretch assignments, coaching, and exposure to multiple brands, indications, lifecycle stages, and customer ecosystems.
- Build capability in resource deployment, data-driven decision-making, AI-enabled marketing, automation, agile delivery, and modern agency leadership.
- Foster a culture of customer-centricity, accountability, learning, innovation, collaboration, and strong compliance.
Skills & Competencies
- Deep understanding of modern marketing strategy and strategic delivery across launch, growth, activation, optimization, and lifecycle stages, with the ability to apply these capabilities in complex HCP and healthcare environments.
- Exceptional resource prioritization and deployment capability, with experience balancing demand, capacity, skills, timing, and business value across competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead shared or network of empowered teams marketing capabilities and dynamically deploy talent across brands, indications, launches, and lifecycle needs.
- Strong strategic marketing judgment and ability to translate customer insight, strategic direction, and performance data into effective activation and optimization.
- Strong leadership across integrated marketing delivery, including omnichannel, customer engagement, congresses, performance optimization, and agency management.
- Fluency in AI-enabled marketing, automation, agile ways of working, customer analytics, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, align network of empowered teams, develop talent, and lead through ambiguity and change.
Education, Experience & Qualifications- BA/BS required; advanced degree preferred.
- Approximately 15+ years of relevant marketing experience, including significant leadership across strategy, strategic delivery, and execution in complex, fast-paced organizations.
- Demonstrated success prioritizing and deploying marketing resources across brands, launches, lifecycle stages, or other competing priorities in a matrixed environment.
- Experience leading and developing teams across levels of seniority and matching talent capabilities to evolving business needs.
- Demonstrated leadership across launch activation, omnichannel, customer engagement, performance optimization, congress execution, agency management, and integrated marketing delivery.
- Experience using data, technology, AI, automation, or other modern marketing practices to improve speed, quality, efficiency, and performance; healthcare, biopharma, or other complex or regulated industry experience preferred.

For applicants in the United States: The annual base salary hiring range for this position is $236,000.00 - $324,500.00 USD. This range reflects our good faith estimate at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined using objective, inclusive, and job-related criteria such as relevant experience, skills, demonstrated competencies and internal equity. This means actual pay may differ from the posted range when justified by these factors. Because market conditions evolve, pay ranges are reviewed regularly and may be adjusted to remain aligned with external benchmarks.
