Senior Director Donor Engagement

Position Highlights

The Sr. Director of Donor Engagement is a senior leadership role that directs the Foundation's donor-facing enterprise and serves as a member of the President's leadership team. This position leads and unifies the functions that shape the donor experience, including communications, donor relations, events, Mission Experience, and the annual fund, setting a coordinated strategy that drives engagement, strengthens relationships, and accelerates philanthropic growth across the Texas Health system.

Reporting to the President, this role translates the Foundation's vision into action and advancing the priorities that matter most to its Mission and fundraising. The Sr. Director brings rigorous project management discipline to complex, cross-functional work, turning strategy into executable plans and ensuring that initiatives move from concept to result. By providing coordinated leadership across the donor-facing teams, this role extends the President's strategic reach and allows her to focus where she adds the greatest value.

This is a senior level position for a builder and a leader, someone with the fundraising acumen to shape strategy, the project management strength to execute it, and the relational intelligence to lead teams and engage stakeholders at the highest levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership
. Direct the Foundation's donor-facing strategy, aligning communications, donor relations, events, Mission Experience, and the annual fund behind a unified vision for engaging and growing the donor base
. Set measurable goals and shared standards across the donor-facing functions, and hold the enterprise accountable for results that advance fundraising and the Foundation's Mission
. Anticipate opportunities and risks across the donor-facing functions, bringing forward recommendations that strengthen performance and position the Foundation for long-term growth

Project Management & Execution
. Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution, establishing clear objectives, timelines, owners, and measures of success
. Bring strong project management discipline to the Foundation's highest priorities, driving initiatives forward, removing obstacles, and ensuring accountability across teams
. Build the systems, structures, and processes that allow the donor-facing functions to operate with clarity, efficiency, and consistency
. Serve as a steady and reliable driver of momentum across the Foundation, keeping priorities visible and on track from launch to completion

Team Leadership & Development
. Provide supervisory leadership and coordinated direction for the donor-facing teams, building a high-performing, collaborative, and accountable culture
. Champion creativity and innovation across the donor experience, encouraging teams to move beyond traditional models and design distinctive, memorable engagement
. Ensure seamless coordination across cultivation and stewardship so the donor journey feels continuous, intentional, and aligned with the Foundation's brand

Governance & Stakeholder Partnership
. Partner with the President on engagement of the Foundation Board of Trustees, leading the preparation of board strategy, presentations, and materials that inform and inspire
. Cultivate strong, trusted relationships with Trustees, donors, Texas Health senior executives, and Foundation staff, representing the President and the Foundation with credibility and warmth
. Serve as a strategic point of connection with key internal and external partners, including THR Governance, Legal, Finance, and Compliance, and other functional areas, as assigned

Education
Bachelor's Degree required

Experience
7 years progressively responsible experience in fund development, nonprofit management, or a related field, including demonstrated leadership of teams or functions required
Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and delivering measurable results preferred
Experience partnering with senior executives or boards in a strategic, high-trust capacity preferred

Licenses and Certifications
CFRE - Certified Fund Raising Executive preferred upon hire

Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to structure complex work, manage competing priorities, and move initiatives from strategy to execution. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and results orientation. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization. Ability to build trusted relationships and lead through influence with leadership, Trustees, donors, volunteers, and system and hospital leadership. High degree of discretion and integrity in handling confidential and sensitive matters. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with donor database systems preferred.

Travel Requirements
20% Local travel between hospital entities and event venues across primarily a 7 county area in North Texas.
