Job Description

The Senior Director of Device Development and Process Technology is a high-level leadership role responsible for leading engineering teams, managing semiconductor process technologies, and architecting ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) solutions across both internal Renesas fabs and external foundries. Strong device/physics/process technology background is a must. Responsibilities include process specifications, compliance matrix, device characterization, device safe operation limits, escalation resolution associated with tape-out and ramp process tech related blockers. Assess business related items including wafer cost modeling and optimization, new investment ROI, competitive benchmark, long term manufacturing strategy and interface into business units, key customers and suppliers
  • Lead the definition, optimization, and scaling of advanced active and passive semiconductor devices for all product groups
  • Define, develop, and execute plans of record, including schedules, deliverables, and risks
  • Lead process definition, documentation, management, and continuous improvement to align with key stakeholders' needs
  • Optimize device structures using TCAD simulation tools to maximize performance, power, and area (PPA).
  • Drive cross-functional execution within internal foundry and at external foundry partners achieve technology POR KPIs
  • Evaluate process window impacts on device characteristics, reliability parameters, and structural variability
  • Act as a technical interface between OED & key customers, keeping them up to date on development activities
  • Strong sense of ownership & understanding of project schedule & key milestone will be required
  • Execute on key technology roadmaps and designs from U.S. R&D sites
  • Collaborate with internal and external Manufacturing organizations to ensure required quality and on-time delivery
  • Escalate issues in a timely manner and propose and collaborate on corrective actio


Qualifications
  • Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or Material Science with focus on Solid-State-Electronics, semiconductors; 15-20 years' experience working in semiconductor Engineering (preferred: team management skills)
  • Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders in a collaborative manner and appropriate level of tension
  • Change champion able to identify, implement and execute new processes to continuously improve and challenge organizations
  • High degree of professionalism to represent our division and Renesas in customer meetings and other formal reviews / negotiations


Additional Information

The expected annual pay range for this position is $228,000K-$285,000. This position is also eligible for bonus opportunities. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
