JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Director, Corporate Thought Leadership & Engagement builds CARE's reputation as a go-to partner for corporate sustainability, CSR, HR, and marketing executives. This leader chairs and grows the CARE Corporate Council, CARE's flagship platform for engaging senior corporate leaders, and secures speaking platforms and co-develops content that position CARE's senior voices as sought-after experts - driving the awareness and credibility that fuel new and expanded corporate revenue and awareness. Working closely with corporate relationship managers, program leads, and executive leadership, this leader also guides corporate communications and storytelling to reinforce that positioning, and builds the metrics frameworks needed to track reach, influence, and ROI across thought leadership efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Corporate Council Leadership & Growth
Lead and grow the CARE Corporate Council as CARE's premier platform for engaging senior corporate leaders around shared thought leadership. Identify and cultivate prospective members, building the case for membership through the caliber of dialogue, content, and access it provides. Design Council programming, such as working groups, roundtables, and convenings, that puts senior corporate leaders in direct dialogue with CARE's mission and expertise, deepening their investment, advocacy and involvement.
Industry Engagement & Visibility
Serve as a primary driver of CARE's presence at industry events, conferences, and convenings where corporate sustainability, CSR, HR, and marketing decision-makers gather. Identify and secure high-value speaking opportunities and panel placements for CARE's senior leaders, ensuring CARE is consistently represented as an authoritative voice in these spaces. Build relationships with industry associations, event organizers, and media to expand CARE's footprint and reputation among corporate audiences. Track share of voice, audience reach, and engagement to demonstrate the growing influence of CARE's presence in the field.
Thought Leadership Strategy
Lead a measurement-driven thought leadership strategy that establishes CARE as an evidence-based authority for corporate decision-makers on global impact. Co-develop original content, such as white papers, reports, case studies and social placements with partners and internal experts that showcases CARE's on-the-ground expertise and data. Partner with CARE's senior executives to align thought leadership output and speaking calendars with major partnership milestones and global events, ensuring visibility efforts compound corporate interest and support revenue goals. Implement metrics to evaluate the reach, credibility, and business impact of thought leadership initiatives over time.
Corporate Communications & Storytelling
Guide corporate communications strategy to reinforce CARE's thought leadership positioning, ensuring partnership impact and Council activity are told in ways that build visibility and credibility. Develop clear narratives and dashboards that connect corporate engagement to business, brand, and social outcomes for use in proposals, renewals, and public-facing storytelling. Lead co-branded storytelling with partners that authentically communicates CARE's impact alongside partners' sustainability and social impact commitments. Oversee storytelling tools and experiences for corporate audiences.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, international development, or a related field,
or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 12+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, marketing, external affairs, or
business development, preferably within sustainability, CSR, or global development. Proven ability to
design and execute strategies linking visibility, thought leadership, and fundraising outcomes.
- Experience building cause marketing campaigns and employee engagement programs that drive measurable
impact. Demonstrated success leading cross-sector communication or engagement initiatives that yield
revenue and brand results. Strong understanding of corporate due diligence processes, partner standards,
and reputational risk management. Skilled in storytelling, message development, and executive
visibility.
- Experience building and measuring communications and thought leadership performance
frameworks. Proven leadership, team development, and stakeholder management skills. Deep commitment to
CARE's mission and to authentic, ethical storytelling that centers dignity, gender equity, and community
voice
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field (communications, marketing, business administration, or
international development)
- Direct experience cultivating and growing a corporate council, membership platform, or peer network of
senior corporate leaders. Familiarity with ESG, DEI, and sustainability frameworks and how corporate
decision-makers evaluate social-impact partnerships. - Experience converting brand visibility and thought
leadership into qualified fundraising leads and partnership pipeline
