Description

The Senior Director, Benefits is responsible for the strategy, design, governance, administration, and continuous improvement of Moore's health and welfare, retirement, leave, and well-being programs. This role serves as the senior benefits leader for the organization, partnering with executive leadership to develop programs that support business goals, enhance the employee experience, manage costs, and ensure compliance. The Senior Director must be able to operate strategically at the executive level while leading and developing a team responsible for the day-to-day administration of benefits and leave programs. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in health and welfare benefits, retirement programs, leave administration, compliance, and vendor management, combined with strong business acumen, financial understanding, and analytical skills. This leader must be comfortable using data to drive recommendations, influence decision-making, and achieve business outcomes while working within the realities of a growing organization. The ability to build strong processes, scale programs, develop talent, and bring ideas and practices from more mature and complex environments is critical to success.

Your Impact:

Benefits Strategy & Leadership
• Develop and execute a comprehensive benefits strategy aligned with Moore's business objectives and total rewards philosophy.
• Serve as the organization's senior subject matter expert on benefits, retirement, and leave programs.
• Partner with executive leadership, Finance, HR, Payroll, Legal, and external advisors to evaluate and enhance benefit programs.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and market practices to inform strategy and recommendations.
• Balance employee experience, competitiveness, operational effectiveness, and financial stewardship when making recommendations.
• Lead the evolution of benefits programs and processes to support organizational growth and changing business needs.

Financial Management & Analytics
• Lead the financial oversight of all benefit programs.
• Analyze plan performance, utilization trends, enrollment data, renewal projections, vendor performance, and plan costs.
• Develop business cases and data-driven recommendations that support informed decision-making.
• Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term cost management strategies.
• Create executive-level reporting and presentations that translate complex data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
• Identify opportunities to improve outcomes, manage costs, and increase program effectiveness.
• Build the analytical foundation necessary to support future benefits strategy, including evolving funding models and plan design decisions.

Health & Welfare Benefits
• Provide strategic oversight of all health and welfare programs, including:

o Medical
o Prescription Drug
o Dental
o Vision
o Life Insurance
o Disability Programs
o Wellness Programs
o Voluntary Benefits
• Lead annual renewals, plan design reviews, and vendor negotiations.
• Manage broker, carrier, consultant, and vendor relationships.
• Evaluate funding models and support future strategic initiatives as the organization continues to evolve.
• Ensure benefit programs remain competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational objectives.

Retirement Programs
• Provide strategic oversight of all retirement programs, including the Company's 401(k) plan.
• Support retirement plan governance, committee activities, audits, and compliance requirements.
• Partner with recordkeepers, advisors, and consultants to assess plan effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop strategies that enhance employee engagement and retirement readiness.

Leave Administration & Compliance
• Provide strategic oversight for all leave and accommodation programs, including:

o FMLA
o ADA Accommodations
o Disability Programs
o State Leave Programs
o Paid Family and Medical Leave Programs
o Military Leave
o Personal Leave Programs
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Drive consistent, compliant, and employee-focused administration practices.
• Evaluate processes and identify opportunities for greater efficiency and improved employee experience.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
• Evaluate and redesign processes to improve efficiency, scalability, compliance, and service delivery.
• Apply design-thinking principles to simplify complex processes and improve outcomes.
• Leverage technology and automation to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Develop metrics and performance measures that drive accountability and continuous improvement.
• Build sustainable solutions that work within organizational resources and business realities.

Team Leadership
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing benefits and leave administration team.
• Establish clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
• Create development opportunities and build organizational capability through mentorship and succession planning.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer service, and continuous improvement.
• Delegate effectively while maintaining oversight and ownership of strategic outcomes.
• Demonstrated expertise in retirement plan administration, including 401(k) plans.
• Proven ability to analyze data and translate insights into business recommendations.
• Strong vendor management and negotiation experience.
• Knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and related benefits regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in benefits leadership.
• Significant experience managing health and welfare benefit programs.
• Strong experience with fully insured health plans and knowledge of self-funded plan structures and funding models.
• Strong experience overseeing leave administration, disability programs, and accommodations.
• Experience presenting to executive leadership and influencing decision-making.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Experience supporting organizations with varied employee populations, multiple business units, or evolving operating structures.
• Experience helping organizations mature programs, processes, or operating models through periods of growth and change.
