Join our team as a Senior DevOps Engineer!

This is a fixed hybrid role on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at HQ in Maple Plain MN

The Senior DevOps Engineer plays a critical role in supporting and advancing Protolabs' internal and external business applications by partnering closely with IT, development teams, and other technology stakeholders. This position is responsible for ensuring the reliable provisioning, configuration, operation, and maintenance of DevOps platforms, including version control systems, build tools, and continuous integration pipelines, enabling scalable, secure, and high-performing technology solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Contribute to the provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of version control systems, build pipelines, and continuous integration tooling
  • Partner with development teams to support applications, enhance reliability, and promote site reliability engineering practices
  • Identify and implement opportunities to increase deployment stability while reducing manual intervention
  • Design and maintain high-availability solutions, including load balancer configuration and optimization
  • Participate in 24/7 operational coverage, including periodic after-hours work and on-call responsibilities
  • Support the growth of the team by mentoring and training colleagues, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing

Physical Demands:

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. However, there may be job duties that require the employee to spend time in the manufacturing areas exposed to machinery and noise; eye protection occasionally required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
