ROLE OVERVIEWAs a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will own the delivery of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions that directly support critical systems and business outcomes. Your role is essential in driving infrastructure excellence across teams by enabling secure, high-performing deployments, optimizing cloud usage, and fostering a strong DevOps culture through mentorship and cross-functional collaboration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Design and implement scalable infrastructure solutions that align with system performance, security, and cost-efficiency goals.
- Write optimized Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automate cloud-based deployments using modern tools and practices.
- Support containerized workloads and orchestrate services using tools such as Docker Compose or Kubernetes.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune distributed systems for optimal performance and availability.
- Establish observability practices by designing health signals and monitoring systems for production workloads.
- Automate patching, vulnerability scanning, and other compliance-related activities.
- Evaluate and reduce technical debt, and implement strategies for ongoing system improvement.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge through code reviews, tech talks, and process improvements.
QUALIFICATIONSRequired- Deep knowledge of distributed systems design, cloud architectures, and multi-layer applications.
- Strong experience with AWS services and cloud-native computing patterns.
- Proficiency in writing scalable and optimized IaC.
- Advanced understanding of authentication, authorization, and general software security practices.
- Hands-on experience with serverless workloads and container orchestration technologies.
- Ability to debug complex performance issues and conduct root-cause analysis in production environments.
- Skilled in cost optimization for cloud services.
Base salary for the role is commensurate with experience and can range between $100,000 - 145,000 + annual bonus opportunity.
Hiring LocationsOur main office is located in Center City, Philadelphia, where we operate on a hybrid model with in-office work required three days a week for local employees. We believe collaboration is most effective when teams come together, which is why we prioritize hiring in the Philadelphia area.
For certain roles, we also hire from
hub locations-regions where we have an established presence with multiple team members working remotely. While these employees primarily work from home, we bring them together in person at least once a year for team-building, collaboration, and strategic planning.
