Senior DevOps Engineer

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the modernization of a mission-critical government information system. In this role, you'll automate deployments, manage infrastructure, and help migrate enterprise applications from on-premises environments to AWS.
You'll work with GitLab CI/CD, AWS, Apache Solr, Nexus Repository, and Windows Server environments to improve system reliability, scalability, and security.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate deployments across development, test, and production environments.
- Manage Nexus Repository for artifact storage and dependency management.
- Develop infrastructure as code using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
- Build and maintain Apache Solr clusters with Zookeeper.
- Administer Windows Server environments and support infrastructure upgrades.
- Plan and execute migrations from VMware-based infrastructure to AWS.
- Configure and manage AWS services, including EC2, VPC, IAM, and S3.
- Support containerization of Java applications.
- Implement configuration management and infrastructure automation.
- Apply security best practices across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Monitor and optimize system performance.
Required Qualifications- 13+ years of professional DevOps, Systems Administration, or related IT experience.
- A Bachelor's degree may substitute for 4 years of experience.
- A Master's degree may substitute for 6 years of experience.
- Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience managing Nexus Repository.
- Experience building and maintaining Apache Solr clusters with Zookeeper.
- Strong Windows Server administration experience.
- Strong experience with AWS services, including EC2, VPC, IAM, and S3.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
Preferred Qualifications- Experience migrating applications from VMware to AWS.
- Experience containerizing Java applications.
- Experience with configuration management tools.
- Experience implementing security best practices in hybrid cloud environments.
Salary$155,000 - $205,000 per year
