Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):
$37.920 - $46.460 - $54.990

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do
To develop and implement strategies for Annual Giving which may include: Partner Membership Program (gifts of $1,000 - $9,999) and special event programs. Work closely with leadership in supporting all philanthropic efforts including identification of major gift prospects, and work with Foundation staff in implementing system wide best practices. Maintains donor and patient confidentiality.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 3 Years experience in fund development (preferably in a health care setting).
  • 2 Years experience to include: planning and organizing fund-raising activities, writing proposals to donors outlining health programs that are understandable to a non-medical audience, asking for donations diplomatically and professionally.
  • 2 Years experience with utilizing general office equipment, MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and have excellent English usage and writing skills.
  • Experience in working with volunteers.
  • Driver's License - CA Department of Motor Vehicles -REQUIRED


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience interacting with board members and key administrative staff.


Essential Functions

  • Annual Giving
    Develop strategy for gift approaches in all divisions of Annual Giving membership ($1,000-9,999) giving societies. Carry a portfolio of Partner prospects from identification to stewardship. Ensure the successful implementation of the Membership program, following Best Practices, including renewals, upgrades, lapsed and new Partners. Other Annual Giving responsibilities may include: employee giving, patient visits, donor recognition coordination, stewardship events, and/or fundraising event solicitation, logistics, and committee management.
  • Major Gift Identification and Collaboration
    Identify and cultivate new major gift/planned giving prospects and grant funders to expand the major gift pipeline in collaboration with leadership.
    Identify, research, and solicit potential sources of gift support including individuals, corporations, community organization and foundations to ensure that annual budgeted membership/personal solicitation goals are met.
  • Department Support
    Provide support to the Foundation as needed. This may include (but is not limited to): logistical support for producing special events; catering and entertainment coordination, day of execution, fundraising coordination, provide logistical support for all cultivation/campaign specific events, conduct visits as needed.
    Prepare for or present at formal meetings to provide presentations of program updates and data.
  • Confidentiality
    This position has access to confidential and sensitive information through the donor database.
    Access the minimum amount of information necessary to accomplish the job responsibilities which are limited to: patient name, address, dates of services, marital status, spouse name, company, affiliation and facility.
    Utilization for fundraising purposes cannot be based on information that may be viewed as a result of access to demographic information.
