Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):
$330.920 - $426.990 - $523.070

What You Will Do
In alignment with Sharp HealthCare's Mission, Vision and Values, this position is accountable for the strategic business plans, operating results, and continued growth of the assigned market, not limited to identified entities, a hospital or hospitals within the Health System. The Market CEO is responsible for assuring the highest quality of patient care and professional services, optimal utilization of the facilit(ies), development of successful physician relationships, and the achievement of established financial objectives across the assigned Market. Has responsibility for hospital-based service lines related to Integrated Case Management, Global Patient and Out-of-Network Services, and the Centralized Patient Placement Center. The Market CEO reports to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Sharp HealthCare.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in hospital Administration, Business Administration, or other closely related field.
  • 10 Or More Years progressive experience in hospital administration and management.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing new systems, programs, techniques, and/or procedures; and a successful track record in achieving financial goals and objectives.

Essential Functions

  • In alignment with Sharp HealthCare's Mission, Vision and Values, this role determines the overall direction, goals, and objectives of the assigned Market within the Health System. Directs the strategic and business planning process, establishes and achieves short and long range goals, and ensures the implementation of strategic business plans.
  • Establishes and achieves financial goals and measures, monitors financial performance, and ensures on-going financial support for the Market including EBITDA, operating profit, and net revenue.
  • Ensures the success of the relationship between the entity(ies) and hospital(s) within the assigned Market and the Health System through the development of systems of governance, negotiation and execution of agreements, and the development of collaborative relationships with key partners. For the entities/hospitals within the Market, the Market CEO serves as the identified Executive between the entity/hospital Board of Trustees/Directors, the medical staff, the Health System, and the hospitals/entities within the Market.
  • Ensures the delivery of quality health care services that exceed patients' expectations in a cost effective and accessible manner through the development of sound business and operating policies for the assigned Market.
  • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls all on-going Market operations and resources including facilities, equipment, human resources, capital and invested resources.
  • Monitors and evaluates the adequacy of the Market's existing health care services and ensures the development of programs and services to respond to community needs.
  • Builds relationships with, and represents Sharp HealthCare to government, external agencies, regulatory bodies, the medical community, and the public to facilitate quality patient care and physician supported change.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and recommends new services consistent with the strategic business plans to achieve the growth and market objectives of the assigned Market and the Health System.
  • Strategic Planning - develops and implements long term (1-3 years) and short term (1 year) business plans and supporting financial objectives including a strategic business plan, supporting operating plans, and annual operating budgets for the Market.
  • Financial - achieves quarterly EBITDA and operating profit objectives for the Market.
  • Management/Financial - achieves quarterly assigned Market management objectives and established joint venture ratios.
  • Quality - develops and implements total quality initiatives including services and programs that result in continuous quality improvement and are in compliance with standards established by The Joint Commission or other appropriate regulatory bodies or organizations within established.
  • Physician Relations - develops collaborative relationships with the medical staff and physicians which support the Market's strategic business plans and financial objectives.
  • Leadership - provides leadership to physicians, Market/hospital/entity management, and employees/contractors/vendors. Develops relationships with and serves as the Executive between the hospital Board of Trustees/Directors, the medical staff, and the Health System.
  • Promotes the Sharp HealthCare's Patient Safety Program and achieves improvements in safety reporting and reductions in safety events including Culture of Safety survey response rates and use of the survey results in improvement efforts. Achieves ongoing improvements in the reduction of hospital acquired infections including the hand hygiene program.

  • Comprehensive understanding of hospital functions, standards, policies, and applicable state, federal, and auditing agency regulations.
