As a Senior Development Engineering Technician, you'll play a critical role in the development, testing, and qualification of advanced hydraulic and electromechanical products serving industries such as flight simulation, data center cooling, energy, and industrial automation. Working alongside engineers throughout the product development lifecycle, you'll build prototypes, create complex test setups, conduct environmental and functional testing, and help transform new concepts into production-ready solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician seeking technical career growth while working on challenging, hands-on engineering projects.

As a Senior Development Engineering Technician, you will:

  • Perform prototype assembly for new, variant, and custom products.

  • Prepare and fabricate complex electronic, hydraulic and environmental test setups.

  • Conduct different environmental and functional tests and measurements for new product evaluation, development, and qualifications.

  • Assist engineering in the preparation of test procedures, data sheets, data summaries and test reports. Participate in test readiness reviews.

  • Maintain an accurate, detailed log of test activities to ensure timely and complete problem resolution. The detailed test log is also essential to allow the cognizant Engineer to complete the test report correctly and expeditiously.

  • Take a lead role in providing a safe testing environment, as some tests are destructive in nature. Tests can only be performed once on a test specimen and must be controlled.

  • Assist in the transfer from development to production.

  • Provide general support of engineering and manufacturing for operations with test equipment in other departments.

  • Provide technical guidance/training for Engineering Technicians and Technicians from other departments using the laboratory facilities.

To be considered for Senior Development Engineering Technician, here’s what you’ll typically bring with you:

  • Seven (7) or more years of relevant electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic experience.

    • Will consider a combination of relevant work experience and technical degree.

  • Experience in the proper use of hand tools, board-level soldering, and test instruments commonly found in a test lab.

  • Ability to troubleshoot test equipment and test stands.

  • Basic understanding of low voltage and high voltage electrical power

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

  • Computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

  • Experience with data acquisition and post-processing applications such as LabView or FlexLogger.

  • Experience using laboratory tools such as an environmental chamber, dynameters, multi-channel oscilloscope, digital multimeter, milliohm meter, dielectric tester, torque tools, soldering equipment, thermocouples, etc.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documentation.

  • Ability to work alone and in a team, demonstrate self-starter qualities, and able to multi-task.
