- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, MIS, a technical-related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years' experience developing distributed/scalable systems
- Demonstrated proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, or C++
- Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
- Proficiency developing and consuming APIs
- Thorough understanding of what it takes to deliver an application from inception to production
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Opinionated but you appreciate an environment where feedback is freely given, and your ideas are challenged
- Comfortable mentoring other developers
- Experience working with the OpenAI SDK, and AI frameworks
- Understanding of AI principles (LLMs, Models, RAG, Agents, etc.) and experience with integrating AI into overall solution design
- Have shipped an AI driven application to production
- Comfortable using coding assistants like GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Claude Code, or Cursor to improve developer efficiency
- Experience with AI platforms like Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or Glean a plus
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their AI services is a plus
Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of the salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $106,400 to $133,000 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that are not included in the base pay.

What will you be doing?As an AI COE Developer on the team, you will be responsible for building software in an agile environment using a wide array of programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Here are some things the team will be working on this year:
- Designing, building, and continuously improving a pro-code agentic framework that powers WWT's Atom Ai chatbot solution and extends to a broader range of business use cases beyond Atom
- Building and evolving the Atom Ai Portal as WWT's front door for discovering, accessing, and launching vetted AI assets
- Support product delivery teams and business stakeholders by partnering with them to brinv an AI-first mentality to solutioning
- Furthering the adoption of AI platforms across WWT
Responsibilities:- Build functional software and deliver technical solutions that consistently exceed stakeholder expectations using web, data, and AI technologies
- Stay ahead of the rapidly evolving AI landscape, evaluating new tools, models, and frameworks and bringing best practices back to WWT
- Champion the adoption of AI best practices and responsible AI use across engineering and business teams at WWT
- Ensure software and solutions scale well, are cost-effective, and adhere to software development best practices
- Provide technical and professional mentoring for team members
- Lead projects and complex assignments with broad and ambiguous scope
- Write thoughtful code that is maintainable and efficient
- Interact directly with stakeholders to understand functional requirements and needs
- Demo solutions and communicate status to stakeholders at all levels
- Participate in ideation sessions and strategic planning
