Join our dedicated team as a Senior Design Engineer, where you will support and lead natural gas infrastructure projects within our expanding Gas Programs team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of natural gas distribution design and project oversight, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution across the full project lifecycle.
In this role, you will collaborate with project engineers, designers, project managers, and utility stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions for natural gas distribution projects. Your responsibilities include reviewing public improvement plans, preparing engineering designs, performing calculations, generating bill of materials for pipe, valves, fittings and instrumentation in conformance with Industry and client codes and standards, designing pipeline routes, and developing construction estimates. You will coordinate with government agencies such as local municipalities, provide field support as needed, and supervise select projects from planning through execution. Responsibilities include participating in design reviews, work under the guidance of more senior level engineers facilitate internal and external communication, while supporting project schedules and assembling design packages as part of a broader project team. Construction field support activities include capturing and documenting material records, weld records and strength test records to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Municipal codes and standards in addition to client specific standards. Checking and updating as-built drawings to include all records information is documented is a key requirement and client satisfaction metric.
This role is designated as hybrid, giving you the flexibility to split time between working from home as well as the office and making field site visits intermittently as projects require. while staying actively connected to your team and projects. We value collaboration and responsiveness, so we ask our team members to be available when in-office presence is needed-such as for client meetings, team events, training sessions, or field-related project support.
Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- 2 - 4 years of relevant experience supporting natural gas utility projects.
- Ability to travel for occasional project visits and maintain a valid driver's license without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications: - Registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT)

- This position pays between $80,000 and $90,000 annually (commensurate with experience) and is an exempt position. Benefits offered include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually.
