Senior Deputy Fleet Chief - 767 & 787

Position Overview:

These roles are critical leadership positions responsible for supporting and advancing the safety, reliability, and operational excellence of Boeing's global 767 and 787 fleets. Candidates will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage resources, and drive efforts to improve fleet performance while supporting both production and legacy programs.

Our teams are currently hiring for the following roles:

1. Senior Deputy Fleet Chief - 767

Lead the team responsible for supporting the global 767 fleet, including the 767-300F, 767-2C, Boeing Converted Freighter, and legacy variants. This role heavily integrates with the KC-46 Tanker program in Everett, WA. A key focus includes lead with support the production phase of our effort for the 767-300F, managing the transition of engineering disciplines while maintaining safety and technical excellence.

2. Senior Deputy Fleet Chief - 787

Lead the team supporting the global 787 fleet (models 787-8, -9, -10), primarily interfacing with the 787 program in North Charleston, SC, and other Boeing sites. This role focuses on driving fleet safety and reliability, reducing maintenance burden and cost, and improving airplane systems performance.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Manage teams supporting the safe operation of Boeing aircraft worldwide with a focus on safety, quality, and performance.
  • Develop and execute integrated department plans aligned with business, technical, and customer requirements.
  • Acquire and allocate resources, including personnel, facilities, and equipment, to meet program needs.
  • Lead the PPO transition by coordinating engineering disciplines in structures, stress, safety, airworthiness, and technical excellence.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external customers, stakeholders, and suppliers.
  • Oversee and approve technical approaches and deliverables ensuring compliance with all regulatory, company, and customer standards.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop employees and managers to build a high-performing, engaged workforce.
  • Actively participate in Boeing's Safety Management System, Continued Operational Safety Programs, and related safety forums.
  • Facilitate fleet team meetings, technical and executive discussions, including customer engagement worldwide.
  • Maintain 24/7 availability to support emergent global issues and travel up to 25% as needed for program integration and customer support.


Work Authorization and Location:

This position is full-time on-site at our Seal Beach, CA facility. Candidates should be willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% for customer and program engagement.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
  • 2+ years of management experience managing technical and/or engineering teams.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience interfacing with airplane programs, airline customers, suppliers, and/or regulators.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong ability to unite and integrate multiple organizations around common goals
  • Ability to build high performing teams across organizations and lead through influence.
