Full Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in one of our Gates locations in the US, the Senior Demand Planning Specialist will oversee the daily operations of the demand planning department team members as they analyze customer and vendor demand to develop and fine-tune forecasts.

  • You'll be adding guidance, experience, and support to the demand planning team
  • This is an exciting opportunity for you because you will be a key decision maker and advocate amongst Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Sales and Marketing to build strong working relationships and make a big impact for Gates' customers.


Key responsibilities:

  • Lead team of demand planning analysts to develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns
  • Implement solutions to improve the accuracy of demand forecasting
  • Communicate forecast estimations to executive leadership
  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies
  • Address demand related opportunities in a timely and effective manner
  • Lead monthly demand consensus meeting between Supply Chain, Operations, Sales and Marketing, and Finance
  • Update forecasts for new products, seasonal products, promotions, and end of life products
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain Managers to monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels, that support superior customer service levels
  • Support service level performance tracking for key customers, as identified by sales team


Key Performance Metrics for position
  • Demand forecast accuracy
  • Service level: Fill Rate, OTTR, OTTC, past due backlog
  • Inventory turns - finished good and raw material


Requirements and Preferred Skills

Required:
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in supply chain, customer service, or data analytics
  • ERP system (Oracle, SAP) experience
  • Must have excellent Excel skills
  • Strong drive for results
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionality
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Manager, or related field or 5+ years of applicable experience
  • Relocation is not provided for this position
  • Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship


Preferred:
  • Experience in demand planning tool such as Demand Solutions or Oracle Demand Cloud
  • MBA
  • Green belt certification
  • SQL and database experience

Pay & Benefits
  • Full-Time
  • Salary Range: $130,000 - $155,000
  • Bonus Eligible
  • Relocation is not provided
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
  • Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
  • 401(k): 3% company contribution and additional 3% company match
  • Tuition Reimbursement
