Senior Delivery Lead - QA & Testing (Insurance Domain)
Experience
15+ years of IT experience with 10+ years in Testing and Quality Engineering, including leadership roles within the Insurance domain.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Delivery Lead to drive end-to-end Testing and Quality Assurance delivery for large-scale Insurance programs. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Property & Casualty, Life, Health, or Commercial Insurance, along with a strong background in test strategy, delivery governance, stakeholder management, and quality transformation initiatives.
The role requires leading global testing teams, establishing testing best practices, ensuring successful program execution, and driving quality outcomes across multiple projects and releases.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Leadership
• Own end-to-end testing delivery for large Insurance programs and portfolios.
• Lead distributed onsite/offshore QA teams across multiple projects.
• Drive release planning, test execution, defect management, and quality governance.
• Ensure timely delivery while meeting quality, SLA, KPI, and compliance requirements.
Quality Engineering & Testing
• Define and implement test strategies, test plans, and quality assurance frameworks.
• Oversee Functional, Integration, Regression, User Acceptance, Performance, and Automation Testing.
• Establish quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.
• Drive shift-left testing and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Insurance Domain Expertise
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand Insurance processes and requirements.
• Support testing initiatives involving:
• Policy Administration
• Underwriting
• Claims Management
• Billing & Payments
• Agency/Broker Portals
• Customer Experience Platforms
• Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are incorporated into testing practices.
Stakeholder Management
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and executive stakeholders.
• Conduct governance meetings, status reviews, and executive reporting.
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and escalation processes.
Team & People Leadership
• Mentor QA Managers, Test Leads, and Quality Engineers.
• Build high-performing teams and drive talent development.
• Support workforce planning, resource allocation, and capability enhancement.

The annual salary for this position is between $140,000 - $160,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
