Job Summary:
The Senior Database Migration Specialist will lead and execute database migration activities in collaboration with the AWS Platform team. The role will focus on migrating databases from on-premises and Azure SQL environments to AWS RDS using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and DataSync. The position requires strong database administration, migration, and cloud transformation experience, with a focus on large-scale database modernization while maintaining data integrity, performance, and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead end-to-end database migration projects from assessment and strategy development through execution and validation.
• Assess existing database environments and design appropriate migration strategies for AWS.
• Execute large-scale database migrations from on-premises and Azure SQL environments to AWS RDS.
• Utilize AWS DMS and DataSync to perform and manage database migration activities.
• Collaborate with AWS Platform teams and other technical stakeholders throughout migration projects.
• Develop migration approaches that minimize downtime and maintain data integrity.
• Monitor migration activities and address performance, data consistency, and operational issues.
• Support cloud-based database modernization and transformation initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
• 8+ years of experience in database administration, database migration, and cloud transformation projects.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Database Services, AWS DMS, and AWS RDS.
• Strong experience with Azure SQL and database migrations from Azure to AWS.
• Experience executing end-to-end database migration projects.
• Experience with large-scale database migrations and cloud-based database modernization initiatives.
• Strong understanding of database performance, data integrity, and migration best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Azure Database Services.
