Senior Database Administrator

Take your database expertise to the next level by owning technology that matters!

As a Senior Database Administrator you'll have the opportunity to work across Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle, tackle complex performance and security challenges, and influence the design of enterprise-class database environments.

What you'll do
  • Administer, design, develop, and deliver enterprise database solutions while owning day-to-day SQL environment operations.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance, including tuning and proactive issue resolution.
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Server, Storage, Networking, Security, and Applications teams on backup, recovery, and multi-year database strategy.
  • Plan, organize, and track functional tasks, projects, and project-based initiatives while ensuring timely delivery.
  • Monitor, track, and escalate database incidents through the Service Desk and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues.


What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 5-7 years' experience administering SQL environments
  • Strong understanding of SQL clustering, availability groups, and standalone architecture
  • Ability to work with teams to identify, troubleshoot and remediate a variety of SQL problems including locking/blocking, indexing issues, and capacity review/turning
  • Familiarity with Idera is a plus

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000. Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions. In additional to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families.
